Hi ladies. First of all, I would like to say how impressed I am with all of you wonderful ladies and your great ideas. You guys are so supportive of each other, and that is why I decided to join this message board. I usually just peek in and out on boards from time to time, but your board called out to me.
With that said, I am a new consultant and have BeautiU scheduled for June (right after I return from vacation, for which I am leaving on Thursday).
I've had a Mother's Day Open House and shared my products with friends and family and have been very pleased with the results. However, I have yet to have a real SpaEscape. Therefore, upon my return from vacation I was going to have a Mystery Hostess Spa Party for my friends and neighbors. I would be truly interested in any advice/ideas anyone can offer. I'm somewhat at a loss as to what to put on the invitation, etc.
I'll have many hours on the road during my vacation, so with my handy laptop and your ideas, it would be a great time to design my invitations and get my ideas together.
I look forward to your ideas!
Thanks,
Diana

Diana,
Two things that I'd like to address from your post. These are just my opinions and experience and may differ from others :)
1) Typically (not always but generally speaking) Family is just a stepping stone to the 'real clients' and they (the family) will join you as consultants/clients once they see how well you do.
So...... don't spend a lot of energy right now with them other thanpracticing on them, getting them on the products and clueing them in on how well you are doing.
2) Mystery Hostess is a GREAT way to gather in those loose prospects from here and there OR to get up and running with some bookings.
Your invitation could include something that says, "You could be our Mystery Hostess"
One time - I had 7 odds and ends people to attend. The more we got into the ESCAPE, the more I realized that this was going to be an awesome party with high sales. THe sales were around $900 and we had 4 bookings. Two of those women went on to become members of our TEAM.
Be careful to not get caught in the trap of thinking that the experience of the ESCAPE itself and the quality of the treatments won't stand alone on its own and that you have to sugar coat it with lots of bells and whistles. Having fun is good and we can all do those things which we think are fun and that are working - but the experience of an ESCAPE can be enough to draw people to one. I hope that makes sense, if not - ask for me to elaborate.
Good Luck,
Dora
PS Have FUN on vacation and don't forget that you can share some stuff then too - makes the day tax deductable <w>

Diana,
Send me a PM with your email address and I will send you my Mother's day flier. I wish I had the poem I wrote for PartyLite, but it is on a crashed computer. It was an excellent Mystery Hostess invitation. I guess I will have to write a new one!
