So I was thinking, since I've always got Mia Bella on the brainsmileys/smiley36.gifand I was thinking of doing sizzle cards and attaching to them a (non-glossy)biz card dipped in wax, with a hole punched through and putting some string through the hole, in a little plastic bag stapled to thesizzle card,so people could use my biz card as a car freshener.


Has anyone done anything like this and had good results?


And I'm also wondering what kind of results everyone gets with leaving samples and brochures around town?

Hi I like the idea of the car freshners. As far as the samples I have had mixed results with them. I personally wouldn't put out brouchures but you can do whatever you want its your business!smileys/smiley1.gifBut the brouchures aren't cheap. What I did is I made up a little basket with the samples stapled to a business card (of course now I will just dip the cards directly into the wax- thanks for the great idea ladies) and I set them out in the local bank and at the town office (my aunt works there) and I sold a jar to one of the girls who works at the bank and I gave a jar to my aunt and they burn them and then when people ask about the wonderful smell they refer them to me. I have gotten about 5 orders throught that mode but I haven't in a long time. I think the novelty wore off.


One suggestion I have about getting your name out there that I do with family and friends, I give them my brouchures and biz cards and I tell them to write thier name on the back of the biz card and then they give them out for me to thier family,friends,co-workers,ect. then when someone buys something from me through thier referal I give them a little something- votive, melt or something like that. Your neightbors or family or friends will have contact with different people than you do so its a good way to get your name out there.smileys/smiley1.gif

Check the forum in the back office. I believe MB established a policy against leaving those sizzle cards around after they were threatened with legal action because of a disgruntled property owner.

I believe that was due to someone leaving scent samples attached to cards in the rest room at a rest stop on the turnpike. They didn't get approval of the owner of the property to leave them there - and the owners were concerned because they don't know what's in those baggies and what could happen if a child got a hold of one (or something to that affect).


I believe as long as people have the approval of someone in charge, there should be no problem. I've asked if I could leave a stack of cards with samples in several places and all have said yes.

I leave my samples everywhere I go, I thought that was what we were supposed to do!smileys/smiley5.gif

I've gotten into the habit of leaving a scent sample and card with my tip in restaurants! smileys/smiley2.gif

Hi Ruth, A sizzle card is just a small piece of paper, a little bigger than a business card that usually contains a short "Ad" and a phone number or website.


Kinda like a classified ad. You can leave them around town or hand them out.
