If you want to become a rep, do you have to become involved in the MLM aspect of it (where you recruit people to be reps on your team)? If not, what are the benefits of choosing to do it when you don't have to?

I would really love to sell candles on the internet and at shows and around town to people I am acquainted with, but I am not too much into the hiring reps and training them and dealing with a team thing. I just want to sell candles and make a bit of extra cash selling something I enjoy. So I just want to geta better understanding of Mia Bella Candles and how it works.

Thanks in advance for any information!

Hi Heather~

With Mia Bella you can work it however you want, you don't have to recruit people. On the internet we can only sell through our company website, but you can do shows and sell just about every other way.

This business is SO MUCH fun!

Hi there Heather,

The great thing about having your own Mia Bella Candle Business, is that you can run it the way you want. No pressure, no monthly quotas to meet, teriffic home office support, tremendos upline support, not to mention the support you get from this message board.

The only selling stipulation is no online selling other than on the company web-site that is provided in your "Candle of the Month" membership which allows you to sell retail directly from that site.

You are not required to recruit or have a team. Just keep that COTM active and you can purchase at wholesale.

The candles pratically sell themselves.

I've done the homeshows, catalog shows, one-on-one selling, sold to retail business, and fundraiser (Currently doing a fundraiser with about 225 girls on a softball league) So you see, it's not just about MLM or recruiting, (but that sure is a plus if you coose to do that)

I'm not really into the MLM but probably will be researching it more later.

The benefits of recruiting are many fold.

You earn residual income on those whom you sponsored into the business.

You also earn residual income on individuals your downline sponsors, and so on.

I joined in September 05 and I have no regrets at all.

Not only has it been a learning experience but I've had a blast with the business.

Everyone on this board is super supportive and very knowledgable and we're like a big happy family here.

If you choose to join us, any one on this board will be glad to help you with any questions you may have.

Hope you have a great day.

Hi Heather!

Unlike the other biz I am in, I am not at all pressured to get enrollments with Mia Bella to make money! ANd like everyone else says, the candles really do sell themselves. Just from my COTM orders I have been able to put a few extra $$ in my pockets from people buying my votives! I have also bought a few extra boxes and have sold those extremely fast! I have only been a COTM member for one month!! IT IS WORTH IT!!smileys/smiley1.gif

Hi Heather,

Welcome to our Mia Bella forum!

Selling candles is amazingly FUN!

There's nothing more contagious than
watching people get more and more excited as they like each scent they
smell better than the next- especially at gift and craft shows or expos,
when they have a friend and start saying "OH, Sally! You've GOT to smell
THIS ONE!!"

Before you know it, there's a whole crowd around your booth
smelling candles and oohing and ahhing, sharing the excitement. It's one
of my favorite things about the candle business!smileys/smiley2.gif

The best thing to do is connect with a distributor and have someone send
you out an information packet with some scent samples- it'll be "love at
first sniff" and the reaction from friends and family is always fun, too.

Be sure to get the information on our weekly live informational and
training conference calls from your distributor, too, so you can learn all
about our products and our company, and hear about how others are
having fun and making money with their business- it is very inspiring.

If you aren't already working with someone, please PM me and I would be
happy to send something out to you, answer any questions, and
conference you in to a live call.

Have a great time learning about our unique opportunity- tell us more
about yourself and ask questions- we are a fun and friendly bunch.

Best of luck to you in all your future endeavors,

First, I'd like to apologize for taking so long to respond to everyone's responses. I've gotten tons of information (and PMs) to digest on this, and it's taken a while to read through them.

Second, I'd like to thank all of you that responded. All of you were very helpful, especially the ones that included a more rounded version of the process. You guys are very informative to new people, and you should be proud of yourselves! :)

Finally, after talking with my boyfriend I have decided to wait to begin any type of business venture until the fall once I can dedicate more time to it (ie: quitting my work away from home job that consumes my hours!).

I will keep your PMs for my reference for when the fall comes, and I may contact you again at that point. Thanks so much!!! Have a wonderful holiday weekend to you all!

Hi Heather!smileys/smiley17.gif

I didn't have the pleasure of PMing or communicating with you.

This is a very wonderful forum and I'm glad that you received some of our Scent-sational info.

I just wanted to add a thought.

There is NOTHING like FINANCIAL and PERSONAL FREEDOM!!!

The Freedom you can create isamazing. But it does take getting started in something even with baby steps. There will also be a learning curve if the homebased business industry is new for you.

I found for me that the best thing, after doing my research, was jumping in at least a little bit.

Whatever products, company, team you choose to work with, start enjoying those products and get a little (bit by bit) company and team training "under your belt." You don't have to start in a massive way.

Also, I am so thankful that my DH let me do what I chose to do without saying ONE WORD!! I know he's thankful now! He's been able to retire and enjoy his freedom too after working in an extremely stressful profession. I went from having a very stressful law practice to having an incredible life now.

I hope that makes scents.

Best to YOU in whatever YOU CHOOSE!smileys/smiley20.gif

We want you to keep hanging around here with our really wonderful Mia Bella Family!smileys/smiley2.gif

Heather, something to think about - you don't have to "work" the business until you are ready. With the Candle of the Month Club, you can enjoy the products monthly, experience them - and be able to let people know you've been using them for months and your experience with the product is...... (insert your story here)

See where I'm going with this? The business will be there when YOU are ready for it!
