For those of you who requested clip art from me, I haven't forgotten! I am transferring a bunch to a word file that you can copy/paste on to your flyers, etc. Give me a little time to do that. Hopefully it will be done in the next day or two. This week is more calm for me. Last week of school...on Thursday, Julia graduates to the next level of Pre-K!

I only have a couple of them transferred over. Working with Adobe is a big pain to me! So I will send out what I have so far and will keep adding.

I started using clipart for my business untilI was informedby my boyfriend (Class Action Attorney) that using clipart for commercial use is illegal.



You have to be careful what clipart you use. Microsoft Clipart is FREE to the private use only. I have heard of people using clipart and getting fined or sued because using clipart forbusiness use (meaning you are earning money using their clipart) is in fact illegal. :(

If you know of a website that has free commercial clipart, I would love to get the link from you.

Lot's of legal stuff to be careful of. Bottom line - we can't take someone else's work without their permission and make money off of it.

So you are saying we can't use clip art for our flyers? Well that is a bummer! I guess I will have to have my husband create some for me...in what century that will be who knows! LOL

If the clip art is free or if you have permission from the copyright owner to use it - then you are good to go. Most places that have "free clip art" have a disclaimer that says you can't use it to generate profit. You just have to check.


Here's my suggestion:


If you want to make a flyer - do it. Use c&p pictures from the company website. Send an attachment of the flyer to corporate along with an explanation of what you want to use it for. Unless you've planned something totally horrible or unethical - they are going to approve it...or at least ask you to change something and then they will approve.


I've had over 20 things approved by them and never had any problem. they own the trademark and copyright the logo and all pictures so they have a right to say how it is used.


You'll get to use it - they just need to approve it.


Does that help? I'd hate for you to have to wait for hubby to do something for you (esp if you have to wait) LOL

About my husband: Last year at Celebration I had a nickname for the team when I promote to Director. So I told him what that was and could I please have a poster of it. Sure was the answer and Julia will help him make it. Well guess what! It is almost Celebration 2006 and no poster! My consultants would like have this logo on a shirt for Celebration! Do you think the logo is done yet? LOL


Time is ticking and if he doesn't do it this weekend, we will not have the shirts done.


He keeps telling me he would like to retire someday...well he needs to get my constant reminder in front of me! Yes, I have driven a convertible Mustang recently.


I will sign my DIQ intent again at Celebration, but this year I will get it done! LOL

I figured as much about the hubby.....


You could have the opposite....one who breathes down your neck at each passing moment making you feel so inadequate and unproductive that you just can't function :/

I was outside with the UPS guy to get out of his truck and a neighbor who's husband is like that came over to see me. She can only leave the house if he is not home. It is just so sad.
