Hi there!
I was just wondering what is the sales requirement for earning downline commission with your company?
I've been checking out this new jewelry company and also a newcandle company that interest me, but wanted to see if their requirements are reasonable.
Have a Nice Day!
Thank you,
Sandy

Hi Sandy:
I am with Mia Bella Gourmet Candles and you earn commission right away with your first downline business partner as long as you are a Candle of the Month member which only costs $39.95. We have no other monthly quotas. You make 10% on levels 1 and 6 and 5% on levels 2-5 (it does goes much further than that but this is the basics).
Best of luck in your decision.

With both companies I am with...the minimal requirement is the equivelent of 1 or 2 home shows plus keeping a minimal # of your team active.
I think all companies base their requirements on something that "uplines" should be minimally modelling to their downline...to ensure success for everyone.

We earn 4% on recruits under 5, 9% over 5 and 13% is you have placed an order wherein you receive 26% commission. Not too hard to do.

Hi Sandy,
I am checking out jewelry sales companies, too. They all have different commission schedules? Have you looked at Million Wishes? I am looking into them and Lia Sophia.

Southern Living at Home requires that you be "Active" to earn $$$ off of your downline. Active is $500 in Retail sales. (About 1 party a month)
I agree that a leader should be leading by example and that is what the "Active" requirement wants to accomplishment. The team tends to follow the leader.
As far as what you earn on your team, it depends on your level. Anywhere from 2-9% on your entire downline and their teams as well. Down to the 4th Generation Director. Which could include team members 15, 18, or 25 or more generations down. ( that's all a little technical to explain in post)

With Home and Garden Party, our requirement to earn on your downline is only $300 retail per month. Otherwise, there is no"quota", but I agree with Susan - the speed of the leader determines the speed of the team.

Ok, with Latasia, you earn money from your very first team members as long as you are selling $500 retail per month, which is one party usually. When your new team members sell their first $1500 you get a $150 bonus and then you earn 6% of their wholesale or 3% of retail, whichever way you want to look at it.
Once you have 5 team members that have sold their first $1500 you can get promoted to Director. Latasia requires you to have sold $1500 per month for two months prior to promoting but then your requirement goes down. Personal requirement is an average of $1000 p/month over the quarter. So, if you have a total of $3000 sales over 3 months then you've made your minimums. Team requirements include your personal sales and should average $4000 per month over the quarter. So, $12,000 sales with yours and your teams every three months and you've made your minimums again. From what I've been told, Latasia has extremely reasonable minimums. I sold over $4100 by myself in April so I'm not worried about the minimums. But, I'm out there working my business too.
Commissions are from first level of Director to top level ranging from 13% to 20% of your branch wholesale sales, not including personal. Or 6.5% to 10% of retail, whichever is easiest for you to use to compare. You also make percentages on your team's branches up to 5 levels deep, those percentages are 11%, 6%, 3%, 2%, 1% on wholesale sales.
You have to be working your business and out in the field to be able to train and support a team. After you promote up the different ranks of management, your personal sales requirement goes down for each one because Latasia understands that you have to have time to support your team as well. But they always want you out in the field at least a couple times a month working with customers, Hostesses and the jewelry. Otherwise you lose touch with what your team is going through. Another amazing thing about Latasia is that they aren't all about the numbers. They work with Directors and above on an individual basis if after the quarter is up and the numbers aren't there. They will call you and make sure you are not going through anything in your own life preventing you from making your sales and will ask you about your team members and if they are going through anything if the team numbers aren't there. They then give you another 3 months to get the numbers back up before putting you back to the next appropriate level. If you don't have the numbers up and there are no excuses on your or your team member's parts, they'll put you back to the appropriate level. If that is back to Designer, you don't lose your team at all. You go back to earning the 6% off of all of them and have 6 months for everything to fall back into place again to get repromoted with the same team members you had in the first place along with any new ones.
Latasia gives us every opportunity in the world to get our businesses off the ground, make an excellent living and support our teams in wonderful ways. It's up to us to take advantage of all they have to offer. I know I'm taking them up on everything they have out there! I'm working toward it and the Lord is blessing me and my family every step of the way. He is showing me that trusting Him and working for what we want do pay off.
Whatever company you are researching and ultimately decide on, if you feel their minimums are reasonable and attainable go for it. Don't let 60 other companies take your mind off what you love about the companies you are researching. We all feel our company is the best one and most fair so when we reply to you, you are going to see our excitement for our own companies. When you decide, you'll have the same excitement, wether they have the "obvious" best downline commission and minimum's or not. Know what I mean?
Anyway, have fun researching and I pray for all the best for you!!!

With Giggle Parties you earn off your first team member, you just have to do $500 retail a month, that's 1 to 2 shows a month. :)

With Northern Lights at Home (candles) we earn commissions with our first recruit and it increases with each one (up to 6 then it stays at one level) and then their are management commissions also. With managers you have to do about 6 parties per month to keep up as a manager, but other than that no sales requirements.

Ditybeads requires you to do $500 a month in sales to collect the 2% from your team members. It isn't hard to do. It's just a party or two.

BabyCrazy has no sales requirements for leadership, which is appealing to me. I agree that as a leader, you need to be in touch with what's going on in your company and trends in the "marketplace" but I don't necessarily think that needs to be forced on people. I've heard a lot of folks talking about how you need quotas, minimums, etc., in order to be as successful as possible, but when you own your own business no one gives you special offers to motivate you. Sure, it's nice to get all of those perks, but I do think some folks have the internal motivation to succeed without the extras. I know a lot of folks here don't agree with this point of view, but I personally want to succeed based on my own goals and timeline. I'm not saying there's anything bad about the sales requirements, but it's not for me. And I see a lot of folks who aren't really impacted by the sales requirements because they already push themselves much further...

For Discovery Toys,
Starting out, you get 5% their first 6 months, 3% their second 6 months. You must sell $250 a month (1 party amont)
Then as a Sterling, you get 5%, plus the other bonus--so up to 10%
As a Group Manager, you get up to 15% with the bonuses.
Again, must sell $250 to get a bonus, and must maintain your rank.

With BeautiControl you can earn up to 4-24% commission (depending on your level and order size)on your recruits PLUS 4-12% commission on your entire team's monthly order.
Our minimun monthly order to qualify for commissions is $450 (this total is before the 50% discount).
Hope this helps!

Hi Sandy -
As a veteran to direct sales (but new to the wahm forum), I can say with certaintythat it is a good thing when a company has a requirement to earn downline commissions, especially if it is reasonable. Companies do this for avery specific reason...they want Leaders in their organization to keep thefires burning. Imagine a company with everyone resting on their laurels...there would be no company.Thisis no different than in the corporate world...there are plenty moresales requirements there. Good luck with your search...hope you find a winner.

With my company we only need a $100 product order to earn downline commissions, which is based on management level- Consultant-4, District-8, Area-14, Region-17, Nation-18%. While I agree with home-basedmom concerning "resting on laurels", we are taught to help our downline get a terrific start, so by the time you are in a management level, you are training your team and most of the parties you aredoing are their first several parties (or one on ones) until they are ready to do it themselves and start helping their own teams.

With Big Yellow Box we start earning 2% after we recruit our second
team member. Once we get 6 team members(and qualifying sales) we
move to Team Leader and we earn 5% on our team. When we promote
out a TL from our first line, we move to Director and we make the 5% on
our own team and an additional 6% on the promote out's team(plus a
$1000 bonus)! As you go up the ranks you can earn on teams up to
four levels down. At this point the only requirement to earn a
leadership check is that our team has $3500 in sales and the leader is
active($300 every quarter)! Most of the leaders I know choose to
lead by example and have very high personal sales(despite our low
requirements). You have to walk the walk if you are going to talk
the talk!!!

Our downline commission is 7-20% depending on how many customers you have enrolled. Retail sales is just a markup, around 30%. You don't have a sales quota or activity level, you just need to order product each month for yourself.
