I need some advise. I learned of this business from a family member (just made RVP) but they live far away. I hooked up with some people locally and they are willing to be my upline. What would you guys do. I don't want to alienate my family but want to be successful and think local support might be better, although none of them are driving a mercedes! Any advise would be great.

I don't know what driving the Mercedes has to do with it. Your upline is there to support you. Your family (although) far away can do that if they are willing to. I would personally go with the consultant (in this case family member) that you first discussed the products and business with. BUt, that is just my opinion.

I would go with your family. If your family memeber has just made RVP, then they are doing pretty good, I'd say. You can try and hook up with a local group for meetings and such but you can still be trained and supported long distance.

I would go with who introduced it to you also. There are a lot of benefits to being in a line with a friend or relative. You are going to be a team & who better to be a team with?
People in Arbonne sponsor others all over the country. Uplines can train you from anywhere, that's one of the beauties of the business. You can e-mail & conference call. The only difference is that you can't go to their opportunity meetings. But that is no biggie either b/c you can go to the opp meetings in your area.
I also think there is a benefit b/c you will end up taking more responsibility for your business. Since your upline won't be there then there are going to be things that you have to do on your own from the beginning. Sometimes people can get in the habit of relying on their upline so much that they develop a fear of doing it themselves. Or they just don't take full responsibility for their own business. You won't have that issue.

I think you could do both! Your family member will always be your upline and nowadays it is so easy to communicate long distance. You could also go to the local meetings for support and training because it is nice to be in a room full of Arbonne- you'll always get something out of a meeting that will help your business grow. If the local group's "ideas" are different from your family members, then just bounce them off of her and see what her take is on it and go from there.

I agree! You should definitely sign on under your family because
they were the ones to introduce you to Arbonne. They should
benefit from your involvement. You can still go to local
meetings. If the local Group doesn't want to help you if you are
not in their upline, you'll be glad you're not! That doesn not
mean that you should be calling them all the time asking questions,
etc. You should contact your upline about that. If s/he is
an RVP, then she knows how to help and will be willing to do so for her
successline.
You can go to the local meetings to get the kind of support we all
appreciate. There will be trainings, etc that are only open to
people in that successline, but I think it's still better to sign under
the person that introduced you.
Imagine if you talked to a relative about Arbonne who happened to live
far away. Then, when they decided to go with the opportunity, they
found some other consultant to sponsor them.
Hope that helps!

Ditto, family comes first! You can still attend trainings and meetings
locally. I would think that decision would be easy, just turn the
table. Would you like it if you just made RVP and a family member you
talked to about the business signed up with someone else? It
really will be fine to have an upline elsewhere and hookup with local
gals and guys for training. You'll be great! Good luck
locally. I would think that decision would be easy, just turn the
