Hi all. I've spent my weekend connecting with people who either suffer themselves with eczema or have children who suffer with eczema. The stories about the children really break my heart, having 3 children myself. I know everyone has different triggers and that different treatments work for different people, but it seems I keep seeing people try different products and unfortunately they aren't finding any relief, and in the meantime, some of their conditions worsen. Obviously a lotion isn't a "cure" for eczema, just a treatment, but in my personal opinion, I believe "Renew" lotion is the best topical treatment available. I hope this information helps any of you who may suffer with eczema or know someone who does. Best of luck!

There is a new product on the market called "NeriumAD"...it's backed by ten years of scientific research by MD Anderson, University of Texas and Louisiana State University. It's a topical skin treatment that has amazing REAL results. Want more info? Let me know and I'll send some along :) :)

I agree with you about Renew. I have had friends who have tried it and it has done wonders for their eczema. It also really helped Psoriasis as well!

Topical creams only address the symptoms and not the cause. My husband suffered from eczema and also tried the over the counter creams and prescription creams. It was only after he gave up grains that he experienced no symptoms Although people consider this extreme, grains (gluten) contain proteins that cause an autoimmune response in many people. My husband and I follow the Paleo way of eating which includes giving up all grains. You can google "Dangerous Grains" a read the review of this book to get the gist of the reasons to stay clear from this stuff.

All the above are excellent tips!

Eczema is an Internal->External condition. Looking for the internal cause will alleviate the external
inflammation.

Stress, allergies to soaps, foods (including gluten), and things in the environmental, to name a few, are all causitive factors. It is important to find the cause specific to the individual.

Don't be afraid to seek medical attention to diagnose and treat a flare up. Antihistamines, steroids and steroid creams all work together to calm a severe flare where there is loss of skin integrity, cracking, fissuring and bleeding of the skin which impair the protective immune barrier function and the skin's ability to fight infection.

Once you have the flare calmed down, using a nutrient rich moisturizer is a great start. There are other things you can do - I have written a blog post with tips to Calm Eczema at Home (http://imlookingfabulous.com/2011/02/12/eczema-7-tips-to-help-control-it/).

When your eczema is completely under control, you may want to try a good exfoliant every so often to keep the dead skin cells moving for better absorption of your moisturizers.

Best wishes on finding the solution right for you!

I have been Putting apple cider vinegar on my son's arm at night and vaseline during the day and it's clearing up. I got the remedy from earthclinic.com. I love home remedies.

Renew is the best! My daughter had suffered with eczema her entire life - we had tried every "cure" - natural, and perscription... nothing worked! A friend gave me a sample of Renew lotion - within 1 week her skin was improving - and within 2 weeks - you would never know that she had had eczema! That was 7 years ago - her skin is absolutely beautiful!! I have recommended Renew to other eczema sufferers - all have had similar results. You can view information about Renew Lotion on YouTube. (just type in Renew Lotion) Please let me know if you would like more information.

Many of my friends have had great success from drinking MonaVie's M(mun) product. It contains a patented ingredient called Wellmune.

Don't take my word for it, Google MonaVie and eczema. then watch the U-tube videos featuring Dr. Paul Clayton. It's not magic but if you give your body the right "stuff" it can heal itself.

If you are having no success, its worth a try. There are a number of MonaVie Distributors on this site who can help you and/or answer questions.

Skin conditions need to be addressed from the inside also. I had great success eliminating my hormonal acne within 2 weeks of drinking Vemma but it's also great for other skin conditions such as eczema. The body can do amazing things when given proper and complete nutrition.
