View Full Version : It pays to give "gifts"

... to my best customer - the one that generally purchases 4-6 jar candles per month from me. With her latest order - she ordered 2 jars of Chili Vanilli (her husband bought another 3 as a surprise for her because 'she always burns your candles every night and I don't want her to run out!').... I gave her a gift of a SO&CP Bella Bar and the hand pump soap. I had thought I had given her a brochure in the past with at least one of her orders - possibly I did and she didn't view it. She told her husband to get another brochure from me because if we had these, we are bound to have MORE STUFF.....
Well, she called me Friday with an order for the melter and a half dozen Mia Melts so she could have the wonderful scents of our products in her office as well :)

Not only did that little "gift" generate that sale - but when I brought those products of the "surprise sale" into my office to give to my customer, I ended up with two more orders from co-workers for more melters..... but these two ladies are buying a case of votives each instead of the melts to use in their warmers LOL! The reason they are buying the votives, is before they came out with Mia Melts, I would use the votives and break them in half and use them in my warmer. They knew I did it that way and so they are as well. It all works out in the wash in the long run ;) Edited by: dreamakr36
