Hi !!
It s me again, Im doing alot of recruiting, & run into new ?? everyday!! If a person who signs up wants to do their party as a Open House, they invite there warm market, I suggest inviting all beauty shop women, teachers, Offices that have women!, ect. I figure if you are renting a room invite all!! This way Showcase is thekey!!
My new recruit feels this is to bold!! What do you think?or what have you done!!?? I also told her to go into the business with her invites!! I feel stepping out of your comfort zone will make you a success, the more shows you do the easier it is. Note Im working with new girls with direct sales!! Ilikethem,to have six shows in a two week time
So they are off & running!! any input would be good!!
Thanks in Advance!!smileys/smiley2.gif

They have to be bold if they are going to own their own business and be a success!smileys/smiley1.gif
Stepping out of your comfort zone is part of growing and
learning. If you are going to do an Open House do it right!
Get as many people there as possible. The more the merrier, the
more there, the more sales, bookings and possible new team
members. Be creative with it and look outside your inner circle
and you business will start out strong. If you only look to your
warm market you are limiting your success right from the first step on
the road to owning an exciting and fulfilling business.

Bren,
In most cases it is not acceptable to invite an office full of women you do not know to your own Open House, but rather to offer to do an Open House for the women in the office. However, if your recruit works in that office or knows someone in the office that can get the word out then that is a different story. The same goes for beauty salons. If it is not a salon where she knows anyone, then it will be more beneficial to offer to do an Open House for them versus inviting them to an open house.
This would still be breaking her comfort zone as she will be approaching people that she does not know. However, with each new approach she'll begin to feel more at ease and before long, she'll end up already feeling like a friend before she ever enters the businesses.
Congratulations on your newest recruit.
It is good you offer to do the first show for your new girls. I truly believe that is one of the best things you can offer. In the beginning most consultants seem to have a bit of a difficult time asking "Would you like to book a show?" and it is great that we can be there to do that for them. As they see our confidence and enthusiasm in the business they will see how easy it is and it will expand their own confidence levels. This in return will make them successful.

One reason many women fail at direct sales is they fail to treat it like a business.
Let's say you opened up a new restaurant. Would you only invite your closest friends to come eat there?
Granted, reality is that most people will not come if they don't know someone if it is at a house, but inviting them will help in the long run. It takes 4 to 10 times of receiving a message for it to register. That way, the invite is the first time letting these people know about you and the company. So in the future if someone books, they will be even more curious.
Now what works better is rewarding people for bringing friends. I've done free shipping when you bring a friend, or 5% off for one friend, 10% for 2, 15% for 3 and so on.
At one party, I had a guest bring a friend who brought a friend. I've also had people bring outside orders.
You are an awesome leader!

I think it's important to share that information with your recruits, and then let them run their business as they sit fit. You don't typically "invite" people to your business and everyone (at least everyone here) knows if you are invited to a party, you're sort of expected to buy. I don't feel comfortable inviting people to my own party to buy stuff. I do feel comfortable introducing my business to just about everyone and that's how I'm approaching my business. Maybe I won't be as successful as someone else, maybe I will, but this is how I feel good about myself and what I'm doing which is far more important.
This reminds me of car salespeople. They've been known forever as really pushy, but they sell a lot of cars. Along came Saturn, who had a no-haggle, non-pushy sales policy. They got a lot of customers because of that. I choose to be Saturn because that's the type of salesperson I like best.
Anyway, I just think that if your new recruits don't feel good about their approach, they won't stick with it. You can push your boundaries without becoming someone you don't want to be.
