Did you hear? This special tax deduction will no longer apply as of Jan. 1. It's a one-time tax deduction up to $5,000.

I'm a true skeptic. So, although I don't think any of you are lying about this soon-to-expire tax break, it should appear on a government site. You shouldn't have to count on a tax guru.

Has anyone seen more than an email about this tax break? I'd love to read about exactly what it is & how it works. If I have that to quote, I would definitely use it as a recruiting tool.

I spent quite a bit of time researching this $5000 tax deduction. I looked throughout IRS and US government sites trying to find that actual "bill" or "law." I found nothing to verify this.

Finally, I checked with a tax expert, and he advised me that no such $5000 tax deduction exists. Instead, we'll be invited to a webinar/seminar which we pay for or a free one where they'll ask us for money to acquire further information.

I feel bad that some people will fall for this and lose money. I for one will definitely not will not spread this rumor any further.
