I've only had one party but sat in on two before I did my first. My area, they offer the people at the party to buy anything that night onlyat the consultant's discount. Now this is good to increase your numbers, but you aren't sponsoring anyone. At my next party I'm thinking about not offering the discount in order to get people to sign up. BUT if I do that, will people be less likely to make a purchase?
I had thought about maybe offering a freebie of some sort if they sign up that night but there again, I really can't afford to purchase anything to give away.
Would appreciate you ladies opinion.

Personally, I would only give my discount if they are a family member, who I know will not sign up under anyone else. If you give them your discount but do not sign them up, what is to stop them from signing up under someone else at a later date. Getting them to sign up links them to you...which is also good, especially if they decide to sell someday.

I have to agree that I would not give my discount. You need to think of your business and why you are doing it.Offer everyone at that party the ability to open a wholesale account. Let them know that if they order $100 or more they will then get a free product. I have found that this free item is more than enough to show them you appreciate their business.
It is great that you have your area as support but you do not have to do it their way. It is your business and you need to run it that way.
Just my opinion,
Jen

I let people shop that evening with their discount if they host a party for me or give me 4 referrals to try our RE*!!

So, you just tell the guest at the party their options or retail price or for the $29 fee you can get your items at 35% discount? Well, do you ever have people that don't buy anything? I can see where some people would be apprehensive and think the $29 "locks" them in to something and wouldn't want to do that. I was thinking about giving a free SSS for everyone that signs up. It's still a investment I'm making though. I don't know, I've only had one person sign up and even though my goal is to make DM it's not going to do me any good if I don't have people signed up so I can make that 8%.

Yes, explain the 3 ways to win. Explain that with the consultant account that they will receive the same benefits as you have & that there are not ever any minimums or hidden surprises. I have heard it likened to a Sam's Club discount. You can say that if you decided today that you were not going to do the business any longer, you would continue to receive the same benefits. I always add that I have never seen a company as generous as ours & I plan to be in this business for a long time!

You can offer a few tempting specials for those people who need a little encouragment! For example, I am going to be offering 20% off Bef. Sun and Cosmetics at my party this weekend. If they want my discount though, they'd need to pay the $29.
Remember, many times people need several exposures to feel comfortable signing up or becoming more involved. "Drip" on people, don't "throw-up" on them. Even though I am pretty new as well, I've noticed that those who try the RE sample pack before the party are much more likely to want to buy the system and will want to buy it at the best discount they can get! Let them know the cost of buying the set retail and what it would cost with the discount....and let them know they can also choose a free product as well!
Be sure you get profile sheets from guests so that you can keep them in the loop and always get referrals!
