Hello all!
I am a new (3rd month) consultant w. "R-bon" and had a question for some of you more seasoned veterans out there.
I am experiencing "meeting fatigue." I have previous direct sales
experience and w/ at least one company, they insisted on attendance at
weekly "training" meetings. But they really were training
meetings!! If you bought a guest, they got a presentation and/or
some other special treatment (makeover/manicure/glamour photography)
while the consultants were whisked to the back room for some
training.
My upline (my sponsor:DM, her sponsor:DM) is not very strong right now so although they have the idea that you need</span> weekly meetings to be successful, we don't DO</span>
anything!!! The presentation is all ready in case anyone brings a
guest (there have never been any~ we all try to do our follow ups on
our own time, generally with three way calls to the stronger
stories~who also happen to live out of state) with the alternate plan
that we will have "training" if there are not guests. But when
there are no guests, we just sit and chat about "R-bon things"
Good EOA's, potential recruits, follow-ups for the week, etc.
Nothing that couldn't have been done via e-mail or phone. It
drives me nuts!!
My sponsor is the same way. I really enjoy spending time with
her, but it drive me nuts when she just calls and suggests she stop by
"for training." She has nothing to share, nothing to say, nothing
to offer really. It is just so UN focused...
What do you all do for training, meetings, how does your upline
interact with you? Any ideas for jump starting our time together
would be much appreciated. She just "popped" over today and
during our ramblings, she entioned that she did not feel like we
had a very strong team or any strong training available locally.
(I know there is a boat load online and via the phone-in training
calls.)

I am SOOO thankful for my upline; they are awesome! I feel everyone is very supportive and proactive. They take on such a team approach instead of an "I" one.
Since we are spread all over the map, we have weekly training calls that we all phone in to. I have learned SO much in such a short amount of time. They are very organized and the time is used very very wisely. Our NVP does the talking and then opens it up for questions at the end.
There are no physical meetings around me, so the weekly calls are my only source of connection/learning/building and growing with my team.
Maybe you could could have specific goals when you meet with your sponsor. Like have a list of questions ready...or something to keep her on task.
Good luck, I hope things get better for you!smileys/smiley1.gif

I personally don't think it's necessary to have meetings weekly. That can be done by phone. We only have one physical meeting a month, and weekly phone calls. Are they open to suggestions/requests from the team?Edited by: cassandra

OUr meetings are separated. We have a monthly training meeting,
along with periodic special trainings. Our Opportunity meetings
are scheduled throughout the month, and you are not to go unless you
have a guest.
One of the selling points that I offer when I talk to a potential BB is
that we don't have weekly meetings! Many other Direct Sales
companies have them every week, and I think that just takes more time
away from family and away from IPA (income producing activity).
Of course you need to fill your cup, but truly, once a month at a
physical meeting is probably enough. I love to do other trainings
like Learn and Burns or Rbon U when my kids are watching TV or while I
am doing laundry. That way, my cup is being filled with
organized, structured training, but I am not taking away from my
productive time.
I would talk to your sponsor about this. It is your business and
you need to do what works best for you in the long run. If you
already have "meeting fatigue" at 3 months, this should be equally as
troubling to your sponsor as it is to you.
Cheers,
-Beverly
