I have purchased quite a lot of CTMH supplies in the past year. I guess I just assumed the ink was archival. I understand it is "safe" like acid free etc. but I am not finding any information in their advertisments on how long it will last in my scrapbooks. I guess I just assumed it would. My consultant assured me it would last generations but I am wondering where she got her inforamtion from. I can't find this information anywhere. I feel like if they had made the inks with the lasting quality we need for our scrapbooks, they wouold have made that claim very visable. Can anyone give me some documented information on this?

hi there,
I think I know what type of information you are looking for. I don't have any documentation for you right at hand, I will have to look for that. But I do want to answer a few of your questions. If you are looking for an ink that will last the longest in your books you will need to use a pigment ink. Close to my Heart inks are not pigment ink. They are waterbased, that is why you can wash them out of your clothes if they should get on them. However, they are safe in your books. They are acid free, they will last for a number of years. How many years? That will depend in many ways on how you will treat your books as well. First, you don't want to keep your books laying down. The best way to store your books is standing on the side, out of the sunlight. Any light of course will hasten any type of ink to fade faster, that includes ink on your pictures. The ink of your inkpads should last as long as the ink of your pictures. You can get really technical by analyzing, what type of pictures you put in your album on how long they will last.
I hope, I have put your mind a little at ease.
