Hello!
I am new to this board
and would like to introduce myself. I am married with no children. I
know this is a board for moms, so I hope I don't get kicked out smileys/smiley9.gif
I
have been reading post for the past week or so when I found the board,
but just decided to register today so I can get to exchange questions
and info with some of you. I hope y'all can help me out somehow.
I
used to be in Direct Sales many years ago. I have a JOB and I am
looking to re-start a home business again. I signed up a couple of
weeks ago with Melaleuca to get some of the products at a discount. I
really love the laundry products, some of the cleaning and weight loss,
and some of the Nicole Miller.
Now I have found out about
Symmetry so I find myself a little confused on what to do next. Has any
of you worked with Melaleuca and /or Symmetry at some point in your
carreer or currently? I would like to hear from some of you on how
these two companies work as a business potential.
I am working
with one of Symmetry's leaders and she mentioned that one of her latest
team members used to be in Mela (making 150,000) but now chose
Symmetry. That gave me some insight but I would like to hear from your
experiences as well.
This is the research stage for me at the
moment. I like several of Mela products. I also started reading the
Mela Comp plan more in detail and all the NO-NO's the company has, etc.
It seems simple but it seems to requiere a lot of people -numbers to
make a good income out of it. maybe I am wrong?
Symmetry seems
more straight forward although I haven't read the comp plan completely
in detail. I am reading it now though. I like that you can retail the
product where as in mela you cannot. I like the wellness part of the
Symmetry company(products) and that it seems that you get more money
sooner and with less people-numbers than in mela. Also, there is no
shipping charge with orders over $50. the other thing I like is that
the business leader in Symmetry works with Dani Johnson's training, and
that is something I just learned about and think will work for me. I am
not sure if the Dani training is applicable to Mela.
Please,
help me out here! I am looking for a product and company I can believe
in, as well as get the income I want and need. I don't want to hear
about other opportunities right now only these two companies.
If
you used to be in either company and change to another one, could you
share with me (PM,email, or on board) why you made that choice and how
it's going for you now.
Thank you!
GL
PS: I don't see a Melaleuca or Symmetry board area here, so I had to post this in some areas of this board.

Hello GL,
Welcome to the boards, most definitly you are welcome even if not a mama!
I belong to Melaleuca, but only as a Preferred Customer - the business I chose not to promote. I love the products butit'sbusiness plan does not strike my fancy. My passion is candles and bath so I chose home careers based on my passions!
What do you like? Bath, Candles, Cooking, Home Decor, Nutrition...?
It is best to find something YOU love vs something that captured you in the moment. You'll find lots of great info here and meet lots of people!
PS you won't see the word Melaleuca a lot on the www as it is not permitted to be advertised by name on the internet. Often it is referred to as 'The Wellness Company' or one of the many family associations such as Mom Team, MOM CEO, My Family First, etc..

Hi GL!
I just wanted to welcome you to the boards! I know that we have some great Melaluca people here, but I'm afraid I have not heard of Symmetry. I'm sure someone else has, though.
Good luck!!

Hi Alethea!
Thank you for answering my post so quickly. I love lavender!smileys/smiley4.gif
I signed up with mela because of the products but with the sight on developing a part time business. However, I am not sure now if that will work. My passions are health and wellness, skin care, bath and body, BUT my main and most important passion is leading people to success! helping others get what they need and want by tappin gon their skills and getting them to high places. it may sound cheeze, but that is how it is for me.
I believe that beauty starts from the inside out and that includes a healthy body. I am environmentally conscious, and as well as financially conscious. And mainly I am people conscious.
Thank you for your answer. I hope I get some moresmileys/smiley9.gif

Hello!
the other thing I like is that the business leader in Symmetry works with Dani Johnson's training, and that is something I just learned about and think will work for me. I am not sure if the Dani training is applicable to Mela.
I am pretty sure Danis training is good for any company and it's free to hear her calls on her site, so I don't think I would let that be a factor. :)

Hello GL!
That is wonderful that Health and Wellness are your thing! Perhaps contact your upline with Mela? I know my upline offers wonderful free training aids etc...
I honestly believe anyone can succeed in any business - if they believe they can - the WILL!
Go for it with Mela, my upline is in the magazine all the time with checks over $15,000 per month!

Hi and welcome to WAHM!
Health & wellness is a wonderful way to go, but...I'm a little biased. smileys/smiley2.gif
I've never heard of Symmetry, but you may find some Mela reps at the Network Marketing folder.
You sound like you will be successful in whatever you choose! You have a great attitude.
Good luck!

Haven't heard of Symmetry either... but I'm another Mela rep whose upline is in the magazine every month :)
Dani's training is DEFINITELY applicable to Melaleuca - and incredibly insightful. I've only been in on a couple of her trainings so far but she's a great leader.
I want to clarify something for you that apparently you've been misinformed on...and unfortunately it seems sohave a lot ofother people. You CAN retail product. Call business development if you want verification, and read your agreement. Your retail customers are called Personal Customers. Retail sales are a great way to makesome extra money andto introduce people to the products who might not be ready to sign up yet. And if you're looking topromote the Nicole Miller line, home parties are a great way to get customers. I'm planning to do some spa parties this summer with the Nicole Miller and the Sun Valley products. Actually right now I do most of my business through in-home Wellness Workshops - that might be something you'd be interested in as well.
Email me if you'd like to chat... karen.hipson@ns.sympatico.ca (karen.hipson@ns.sympatico.ca)
ETA...I'm sure you won'tget kicked out for not having any kids... since there are MEN on here!!! LOLEdited by: kaaryn
