View Full Version : Products to demo at a booth?
05-14-2006, 07:31 PM
I have a booth coming up on the 20th. There will be Chiropractors doing chair massages and Warm Spirit doing hand treatments/massages. Not sure what the MK consultant will do. Last fall she didn't do any demonstrations and neither did I. That is because I worked the booth alone. This year, I have someone to work it with me.
So does anyone have a good idea what I can demo? This room is going to be packed with exhibitors. (She said she was going to limit the vendors to 40, but it is pushing 50+) Last fall, I didn't even have room to pull out a chair to sit down. That's how packed in we were.
I appreciate your help!
The door prizes I have figured out already. I have a decorated metal sand bucket filled withSave Your Sole foot care line, pumice stone purchased at theDollar Store, bath scrungie and flip flops. It turned out reallynice.I put raffia in the bucket to have it look sand in color.
I will give away a silky hands and feet set at my table. It is ridiculous that our door prizes have tobe so expensive. Last year, some door prizes were valued at $300. Crazy!
But I can't complain because I have gotten good response from this event. Lots of new clients and a consultant!
Does anyone else have a door prize slip the would like to share?
Thanks everyone!

I was listening in on the phone conference last night and this
idea was given. The consultant (her name escapes me right now, but she
was a senior exec. director) said that she demos SOH at her booth when
she does shows. She says she fills a huge bucket w/ warm water and
brings along another bucket. She puts a pretty bowl on the table and as
people put on the Show of Hands, they place hands over the bowl and she
slowly rinses their hands w/ warm water in a pretty pitcher. Afterward,
she dumps the yucky water into the empty bucket and refills her pitcher
wth good water as needed. A good way to demo SOH w/o a sink nearby.
I think lip apeel is always a crowd pleaser because it is so unique.

I did a booth about two weeks ago with another consultant. We decided to demo the SOH, but didn't have a bowl, water, or a pitcher. The other consultant did have a spray bottle with water in it. We would put the SOH on the client's hands and have them rub them together over the pavement (we decided we would have a decorative bowl for this if we did this inside). Then we'd spritz their hands down with water from the spray bottle. They'd wipe off as much SOH as they could with half of a paper towel (we used the Bounty Select-A-Size ones). Then we'd spritz their hands down again and have them wipe them off for a second time with the paper towel. Sometimes it took a third wiping and a second half-paper towel to get all of the sea salt off of their hands. It actually worked very well, didn't take very long, and wasn't as messy as it sounds.
After the SOH, we gave each person a hand massage. Eitherwe'd massage their hands with Extreme Repair, Herbal Serenity Foot Creme, or Margarita Foot Creme, depending on what the client wanted. While we were massaging their hands, it gave us a moment to speak with them about our products, our spas, and our company. After the massage, we'd give them a gift certificate for a spa party with up to 10 friends (we each printed different gift certificates).

I would demo the SOH for sure.
It makes the most dramatic/visible/instant difference and their hands will still feed good the next morning.
One thing that worked well for me was that recently a MK leader was at a trade thingy that we did and when people came to our booth - the biggest comment was that our SOH was only 1 step = whereas theirs was more...plus our smelled better.
those foot tubs and clear pitchures work wonderfully for demoing the SOH.

I can't demo SOH with 2 other booths doing the same thing! I need something different that will attract them to my booth. Any more ideas?
Thanks!
Thanks!

What about lip apeel and the warming trend green tea masque? Those are
unique items that always grab attention at the spas I have done. You
could also do the eye pads and the head tingler/massager.

Maybe you could try doing the microderm abrasion on their hand like at the spas---it would be simple, easy clean up.......it always shows a visible difference, or maybe have some of the orange body creme and do a hand massage and then just a spritz of the ambrosia body mist............or instead of the body mist the latte bath foam.....I love it and it could be wiped away with an unscented baby wipe. I haven't done a booth in some time, so I have no personal experience. The last booth Idid we used the therma del sol body butter, just did a hand and up the arm a little massage. It went over well.

Thanks for the suggestions! I have done Microderm Abrasion before and that went well. The Warming Trends is a great idea too! That always gets oohs and aahs at parties. That is product that doesn't sit on my shelves long!

I love peach smells! In fact, I learned from aromatherapy that the scent of peach helps control pain. I burn a lot of peach scented candles.

I recently did a show and did the SOH and I had several lotions to smell and sample. Sugar body lotion...Brown Sugar....the Beauti Bistro cremes...and the extreme hand repair.
We had one girl behind the booth doing SOH, and one girl outside of the booth with the extreme hand repair (sometimes walking around) asking people if they wanted to try it. It got people over to our booth! Even if they didn't want to stop, we were able to give out our business cards like crazy.
Good Luck!
