Hello Everyone!! Well, after over six months of waiting, I finally had my launch party. LOL
We had started with quite an invite list and as the day came closer and closer, it got smaller and smaller. LOL I had arranged to hold this at a friends house and she was getting really nervous about the turn out. She called me a few times disappointed with people but I kept telling her it would be alright.
Well, it turned out that we only had 10 in attendence. But oh what a ten!! We had such a great time!!
I got there early and helped my friend finish getting things ready. Then set up my display. I greeted her guests as they came, some I knew and some I didn't, but I think she liked it that she could hang out with her current guests instead of answering the frontdoor.
I know that we all have been told to begin our parties on time and stick to the schedule and I have told my own team that myself, but tonight as 7pm came around and there were still a few people missing, everyone was having a really great time visiting with each other so I waited. After about 15-20 minutes, I mentioned to my hostess that I thought everyone who was coming has already arrived and that we might like to get started.
I invited everyone to grab a plate, get some snacks and join us in the diningroom. This took another 10 minutes before everyone got settled. Then I asked if there was anything anyone forgot. Then I got started.
I VERY quickly gave my presentation without being rushed. I thanked my hostess can gave her my little gift baggie (By the way, if you haven't heard of Cello in a Box, they have some great bags to put your prizes and gifts in). The gift was a coffee cup with a single use coffee bag and a single use tea bag, but with some tissue paper and the bag and tie from Cello, it looked like a very nice gift. LOL Within one minute of putting that in her hands, someone asked how they could get one....and that's what we want. LOL More hostesses. LOL
Anyway, it was a very easy going presentation. I had a stack of recipe cards in my hand to give out and on the back of the last one, I had written down a basic outline. They never knew it though because I held them up and said "I have some recipes here to hand out in a few minutes" LOL
I really only did the very basic presentation and then let them shop. They were still snacking and the started to go through the catalog. I got myself a cup of coffee and sat down with them at the table. I didnt' get pushy or start to look over shoulders. I just listened.
I loved what I heard! They were selling each other. LOL Guest one would say to Guest two "This would look terrific in your kitchen." Or another would say "You just have to have this for your guest room!"
Out of the 10 who showed up, there were three that had stated within the first three minutes of being there that they were only there to support me and didn't really want to order anything. Those very people had the biggest orders!! At one point we were talking and I mentioned that I was really happy everyone was having such a great time visiting. It was like they all decided at once and they started to tell me how the easy-going feel and my willingness to inform them instead of sell them made them WANT to order.
I really had a great time too. My hostess told me that she was very impressed with the whole night. The products, the presentation, and my approach. Of course, with different crowd I may have read them differently and approached it differently, but it really felt better than any other party I've done with previous companies.
Before we started processing the orders, we did our door prize drawing. They were so busy pouring over the catalog that I had to make sure they knew it was time. LOL
The average sale was higher than the company average. I have 4 bookings and not only did they order but they are taking catalogs because a few of them have friends that they KNOW will want to have some item.
I am so grateful to have this opportunity to represent a product that is so well received. There really was something for everyone!! Oh yes, and the customer special was an easy up sale too.
Thanks to everyone here who has been helping me during the last 6 months as we got closer to launch. I've learned from all of you and I'm really looking forward to helping back.
Happy Partying Everyone!!

Brenda, I'm so ecstatic for you!! Isn't it wonderful how at home you feel when you know you're with the right company? It sounds like you did an absolutely amazing event and no wonder those people were placing huge orders and booking parties! Now that I know you are up an running, I'll be calling my friend I told you about on the phone when we talked that day and seeing about getting you her addy for a book party with you. As I told you that day, these women will really appreciate what you have to offer them!
Anyway, I just wanted to tell you congratulations and I will definitely be sending up prayers of Thanksgiving for you tonight for God blessing you with your "it" company!!
And when everything gets closed out be sure to come post your sales on your very first party so we can whoop and holler for you again!!!

Thank you everyone for your support. It's been really terrific. I still haven't closed because we are still waiting on a few orders.
My hostess called today to go over her options. LOL With my company you can earn 1/2 items and then you can earn hostess dollars and she wanted to figure out the best way to get the best deal. :o) Of course we worked it out and it seems she'll end up getting about $143.00 worth of products for $34. And she still has $10 in hostess rewards and another half off item if she wants to use it. LOL She's going to wait until we officially close to pick her last items.
I know that we all have a nitch to find and I've found mine. Thank you again everyone for your kind support. I hope I can cheer you on the same way.
