I've been on this forum for a few days now and I think this is the place I should be posting for what I need. I'm just looking for help is all so I'll start by explaining my situation. First off My name is Nicky. I was born with an extra vertebrae that I had removed when I was 5. This made my spine grow out of line so when I was 16 they placed rods and screws in to straighten my spine. Although it did straighten my spine I have been in extreme pain that has gradually gotten worse ever since. I am 20 years old now and my doctors haven't done anything to help me. They've tried but they have not been successful. Now in this condition I am not able to really do much. The only thing I can really do for an extended period of time is lay in bed. I live with my mother but I want income so that I can leave here and have my own life. I've pretty much accepted that this may be how the rest of my life will be like so I am trying to make do with what I've got and try to find a work at home job. I have applied for SSI, I do not qualify for SSDI because I have never worked. I can type on the computer because I got an app that allows me to use my phone to type on my computer so it is easy for me to type laying down. I can use the phone also and I've been trained and certified in Microsoft applications. So I've decided that the most realistic way for me to get an income is to find a work at home job. I have searched for months and have been scammed several times. I don't have any money of my own or the resources that it takes to start an online business. So I'm still looking really hard but I think I may be looking in the wrong places. The truth in all of this is I need help getting a work at home job. I'm all alone here, my mom lives here too but she won't help me. I don't have any friends from high school because I missed most of high school with my back. Like I said I need help and guidance and support in this search for a work at home job so the only option I have is to rely on the kindness of strangers. So that's my story. I urgently need a work at home job and honestly don't know what to do. Can someone help me?

Oh this story is very sad and it sounds as if you've had a rough life so far. Turning this around, have you thought about writing articles about yourself or your condition? Article writing can be a great source of income. Have a look at this article on health benefits of massage (http://iain-mars.hubpages.com/hub/The-Massage-Experience) for example. There are paid advertisements at the sides, on the bottom and pretty much anywhere on the site where there's no text! Every time someone clicks these ads, YOU get paid! It's free to sign up and never ever costs a penny.

If that's not for you, have you thought about becoming a freelance audio typist?

WoW sweetheart I'm glad you have the desire to do something for yourself. I would try the telecommuting folder first. Try applying with West. They are pretty easy to get a customer service job at home.

Hey Sarah. I haven't thought about article writing before but now that you mention it I'll try to find out more and get started. Especially if it doesn't cost anything. And I have considered the audio typist but I just don't really know where to get started but I'll look some more. Thank you very much for your help and kindness.

The past two days have actually been really hard. Yesterday my doctor refused to give me a referral to a specialist i was scheduled to see on Monday, and today i got deniedfor the disability again. So that just means it's that much more important to make this work at home stuff work.

My story (http://nsullivanjr.hubpages.com/hub/Im-Disabled-and-trying-to-find-work-at-home-My-story) Can you guys check to see if I did it right. I'm not sure. Thanks!
