I've seen this a few times here - but I've no idea what "The Envelope Game" consists of. Would someone mind sharing the details? Thank you so much!

I don't really know if this is necessarity the Envelope Game but I used to call it an Envelope Challenge.
Given to the host when they dated the show We would take a number of envelope (5 in our case) and on the outside of each envelope had a challenge like, return mailing list within 48 hours, called and personally invited guests, had 2 datings in waiting before party, had $100 in outside orders before party and have so many (#?) guest attend the show. Make up your own challenges.
On the inside of the envelopes would be a card stating the prize for each. Make the prizes coincide with the challenge. If it's more important to get the datings make that prize some bigger others can be like the Arbonne logo'd compact mirror, pill box, letter opener, insulated tumbler shaker or various items you got from your $100 for $20. Just keep all the items with you at the party so you can present the host with the gift right them in front of all the guests.
Make it fun such as saying little things if they missonechallenge that, darn and that was the trip to Hawaii or cruise to the bahamas.
Bright colored envelopes like from Walmart work great. I've had the host basically standing at the door when I get there excited because they had met the challenges. It paid off because she had 20 people there, $500 in sales, and 3 datings. Doesn't always work but with some it is a motivator for them.

I know of 2 envelope games. Here is the first......
"This has really worked for one of the ladies over on the party board (Lisa)and she shared it with us. She is a booking pro!
choose a small item, I am using Detox tea bags. She uses tealights, but any small item. Write a number on each one, 1-12. Make up 12 corosponding envelopes numbered 1-12. Inside 6 envelopes, put a card or slip saying "Congratulations, you've just booked aparty!", for the other 6, they can all say "Congratulations, you've just won a gift! (or name the gift $2-$5). You can also break up these 6 to: 4 gift, 1 large gift ($10), and 1 free shipping. 50% party, 50% other. At the party, take out how ever many you need so each guest can play if she chooses.
To play, say "Ok, I have a quick game for you all. All you have to do is ask me a question about my business, and you will get a tealight (teabag...)". After handing out the items to those that ask.....
"Now, there's a catch to this game, is anyone here a gambler?" Make this very fun, be excited to play. Bring out the envelopes. "You can keep your tealight, and thanks for playing OR you can trade it in for what's in the envelopes. If you look on your tealight, you'll see you have a number...I have an envelope with the same number." Tell them about the 50/50 odds of having gift/party and what gifts are. Start by calling #1, and procede to ask each guest if they'd like to play or pass.
Tell everyone to wait to open the envelopes until everyone has one, then they can open them one at a time. Lisa suggests opening the leftover envelopes and reading those out first. (you can add the gifts to their orders)
If they have decided to take an envelope but do not win a party, you can have your booking calendar out while they are ordering and say "why don't you take a look at my calendar and see about a date that works for you?"
(While asking question portion...mentionthat they can ask more than one, but they will only get one tealight. Those that are asking more questions will give you a clue as to who could be your next BB!)"
I used this at my last party and out of 5 guests, 2 chose an envelope and it was a lot of fun!
Here is a post of the book to look envelope game.......
"I do envelopes, but I don't do the ones that tell them they are going to host a party. I just have the "book to look" envelopes. Inside thereis aFREE gift coupon, or a 25% off any ONE item coupon, or 10% off today's order, etc. But the only way they get to open their envelope is to sit with me and set a date for their party.
Edited to add: If I don't have "book to look" envelopes I still offer 10% off today's order for anyone who books a party. I also sometimes let them know that if they do book a party, not only to they get the host specials, but if they need to buy something on their own, they get to buy at 25% off. Others suggested making a nice basket for the current host and let people there know that they will also get one at their party if they decide to host as well."
Hope that helps!
