Is that good enough to make a decent amount of money with this? I heard people talking about how ratings effect pay... So my other question is does anyone know how many posts I need to make to reach $5? Thanks for any help.

No, this would only be enough for little fun money, or gas money. I don't know how people say they got $10/hr. It took me days just to get $5. It takes approximately 55 posts to make $5, but ratings DO affect your points.

I stopped doing this, it was not worth the effort. I'll continue once in a while, but only if I don't have anything else that needs to be done (if I'm watching tv or something inactive).

How do they do the point scale? Is it on a scale of 1 to 5? Or 1 to 10?

It's on a scale of 1-5.

Thanks Rya1. I appreciate the answer.

A 4.2 out of 5 is an 84%, so that would be a strong solid B. Sounds like a decent rating to me. Is Postloop making it extremely tough for people who do not hold a perfect or near perfect rating to make money?

I would actually consider a very good rating. There are very few that have that good of a rating. Good luck to you!:)

If you have a good rating, you get bonus points for each post. Even then, the money adds up slowly.

And you have to exceed the average rating to even cash out.

Here's my take on postloop. You have to put in a lot of hours just to make some money, but it doesn't really compare to all of the hard work you put in. I get so bored so easily with this so I just give up and move on to something else. I've only made $15 so far and that does not include daily posting.
At first I had a 4.8 and I wasn't making any more points faster. Now I have a 4.5. Your rating does affect your points, but in my opinion not a whole lot. I would do this just to make a few bucks but not as a second income!:)

I was earning decent money on postloop. My score is a 4.27 and I was able to cash out before but I am .03 points from cashing out again which sucks because I have 20 dollars just sitting there with my name on it! I'm pretty frustrated because I know I am a decent writer and it depends what the forum owners rate you. Well unfortunate for me one rated me a 3.80 which did a lot of damage to my higher rating. So now I cannot cash out like I said.

Post loop takes quite a bit of time. I only do it when I am eating lunch or having nothing to do. I have 270 posts so far and have made $23.11.

In order to withdraw your money, you have to at least have 100 points. You also have to have a higher rating then the average. The average changes. If someone gives you a rating...it can mess with your rating a bit. I had a high rating and had a board owner rate me a 4.5. She said I was doing great. But, it brought down my rating a bit. I was annoyed. I would have rather she not rated me .

Your 4.2 rating isn't great at this point. The average is 4.3(as of today) . So you can't cash out yet. It will be fine if the average goes lower.

So someone could potentially give you a bad rating on something for no reason? And if your over all rating goes below the average, you can't cash out?

Yeah, people can give you a bad rating. The only reason a person can't cash out is because they have an overall low rating. You have to have a 4.0 or higher to cash out.
I usually unsubscribe from their board if I receive a low rating. I just don't want to jeopardize my chances of getting a bad rating from them again. I got a 5.0 rating from a user recently, but that didn't really increase my overall rating though.

Tips to increase your rating:
1. Create long, lengthy posts.
2. Be unique in your responses.
3. Interact with other users in your posts. Piggy back on what a previous poster just wrote.
4. Start your own thread, but be lengthy in your post.

Personally, I love Postloop even if it does take time to make money. I think it is fun and I have met some nice people on the forums. Blueblue's tips are great for increasing your rating. I have only cashed out twice there so far since I don't have much time to devote to it but I still like it and think it is fun. :)

Blueblue said it poignantly and right on point......lengthy posts, generating your own, and piggybacking are the keys to success at PL....as is thinking on your feet, typing quickly, and being able to quickly proofread your submissions.
