Iam a brand new consultant with Usborne Books At Home and I have been reading lots of your posts and learning from them. Usborne has a fantastic program where you not only earn extra books, but are also able to give away double hostess credit during your first 12 weeks. During this time you are also able to offer 2 recruits half off on their kits. So of course I want to make the most of this time. This is where your advise would be greatly appreciated. I love these books and so do my children. I just don't really know very many people to share them with. I am doing my kick off show on the 15th and I have invited everyone I know, 17 people. I am new to this area andneed ideas on what I can do after my kick off show. Please help!

Hi Kimberley,

I've given some advice on other posts and I believe Dawn has also. The best information you are going to get is directly from Usborne. Each company has different marketing avenues and Usborne is going to be different than jewelry, makeup, etc.

Have you spent much time in the back office reading through the message boards? Our posts go back over 5 years and there is a wealth of information. Also we have weekly chats and many of our chats are logged and seperated by topic on ways to get business, how to approach businesses for corporate book fairs, approaching preschools, churches, getting home shows, every possible topic you could think of.

Who is your supervisor and sponsor? They will be able to give you an unlimited amount of information on how to get sales, recruiting, etc. This is your sponsors job to help you.

Let me know if you need more help and most of all have fun! smileys/smiley1.gif

How about a "press release" that you can send out to friends, local daycares, PTA, Moms groups, etc. Include information about an open house that you'll be hosting. Look for shows that will accept direct sellers - you could have a drawing for a free product. In order to enter they must fill out a slip. They can get extra entries for placing an order or booking a party....

I don't know - just some things that come to mind.

I think you should just sit down and make a list of everyone you know. Don't dismiss folks because they don't have kids. A lot of people are looking for shower gifts, birthday gifts, preschool/Kindergarten "graduation" gifts, etc.

Never go anywhere without a few of your DC's favorite books and business cards. (LOL! I never go anywhere without at least 2 Usborne Chunkies! They're so portable & they're NOT going to get ruined in a diaper bag)

Good luck!
