How do you all intend on keeping sales up this summer. A lot of people are vacationing and otherwise "busy". what are your plans to keep it going?

I focus on booking weeknights. Weekends are too hectic and you
can not get the attendance needed to make it a success. Ladies
are always looking for something fun to do at night during the
week. That way I still spend quality time with my family and get
away on the weekends but still keep my business moving forward.

I agree with M.J. - weeknights only! I tried the weekend thing last year, and it just wasn't worth it. I've already blocked off my weekends through August, and am looking forward to some great partying during the week and great family time during the weekend!

Another thing that can help is theme parties.
Let's see.......during the summer, it's a great time for people to host a party with you and make it an Ice Cream Social at the same time. Remind people that they CAN host a party with you outdoors, if they have a backyard/patio area they'd like to show off and enjoy the great weather at the same time!

I heard or read the idea of having shows at a park. This way people get to enjoy the outdoors and those with kids can play if it gets too hot then try having a show at a Mc D's indoor playground or the like.
Those selling toys, or other childrens play things can easily set up a little play area.
Those selling any skin care products with sunscreen take your goodies along with you. You will be amazed how much can be sold while you are outdoors or at festivals. (sold a ton of avon sunscreen this way when I was a rep. You can also hit up daycares as they will love it if the parents buy their kiddos the aeresol (sp?)cans of sunscreen-easier to apply and chances are the parents will buy it for the house and the car. The aeresol or wipes Another tip: Aeresol works great for nail salons as it is easier to apply for those who have tips or long nails.)
Another idea is booking office shows during the week. Or do an office show to go type fo thing where you put together some of your products in a basket for your hostess to sell at the office. Super easy and sales will be better than a catalog show. Food seller people or kitchenware people can treat office folks to a nice lunch type of thing. If they are at the office they will appreciate the break and you won't have to worry about their afterwork plans or attendance as they will be there already.

Depending on what you offer you can up your sales by doing cooking classes, scrapbooking classes ect.... to local camp groups they are always looking for an in house opportunity. Hand out catalogs to other moms when you take your kids to the playground ect.
Summer is a great time for sales you just have to think outside of the norm and seek out places where people go in the summer.
