I am so happy! I got my Empowering Women magazine! I got me and the three little ones ready first thing this morning and we went to Barnes and Noble and got it! I can't wait to show it to people tomorrow during my spa!!

I had been stalking Jen the Magazine Maven at my local B&N for almost a week about the magazine! It finally came in and I got mine on Sunday. There were only 3 copies and I bought all three of them! I knew it was going to be slim pickin's, though, because when I first went in, she said that tons of people had come in asking for it already.

I am SO totally impressed! I gave one copy to a managar at Burger King when I was at lunch with my son yesterday. I am meeting with her on Thursday morning! I gave one more to a good friend of mine that is killing herself working at a fast food restaurant as a manager. She actually makes decent money and they reward ok, but she is working 60-70 hours a week. She hasn't seen her kids in two weeks! I thought some of the stories would inspire her.

Anyway, if you haven't gotten it...go out and get it! It's Beauti-FULL!

Very cool Shawn! Mistie, I am impressed that you went out with all the kids in tow! I like shopping alone whenever I get the chance.


Which I did this afternoon! Julia is still in school and it is nice to have an adult conversation. Talked to the woman checking me out at B&N and she told me her Mother-in-law is a consultant in TN!

Thanks, Vicki! Hopefully some of these leads will add members to my team and help some deserving, hard-working women achieve some dreams of their own. I can't wait to see where things lead. I can honestly say that if I didn't have this magazine, I probably would not have approached these ladies with the opportunity (except fo my friend..but this mag gave me a different angle and more confidence than I'd had with her before).

I am so glad that there is an article on BeautiU! It really gives the whole picture of what our company is all about. The DVD is wonderful!


I can't wait to share it at my spa parties and my booth next week. I wish I could figure out how to run the DVD at my booth, but I think that would be very distracting. It is a small room we are in and there are 50 exhibitors.

I went to B&N after school today and found two of them on the
shelf. I bought them both. My director, Shelley Callahan, is in the
magazine and her recruiter is Angela Brown on the front cover! When I
first started, I thought, ok, these gals are the exceptions. However,
the more people I meet, the more I see that their success can be my
success too. BeautiControl has really set their company up for all of
us to succeed if we have the passion and drive to make it happen.

I haven't seen the dvd yet. I am going to take a copy of the magazine to Curves tonight!

smileys/smiley19.gif I called B&N today looking for the magazine, but two different people couldn't look it up in their computer system. However, one of the people said that he was sure that they did carry the magazine there.


I dropped by at lunch and they still only had last month's magazine in stock. I asked the magazine lady (who was just putting out magazines) and she went to check for me. She didn't see any, but said that they were getting another shipment in tomorrow. So, hopefully, I will be able to get one then.

One thing I saw on this video was the Margarita Shower Gel in the Margarita line. This was shot recently, so I wonder if they are going to bring it back again. If they do, I am the first person to order a ton of it! It was one of my most popular sellers! I will let you know what I find out.

Definitely keep trying! I talked to Jen at B&N today again and asked her if she thought they'd get anymore in since they sold out so quickly and she said that they should get some more. So, they should at least have on shipment come in at yours I would think. If you can't get one and I can get my hands on another one here, I would be happy to send you a copy. Keep me posted!

Gosh, I haven't even gotten my preview copies I ordered at Leadership yet! I thought we were supposed to get those before they came out in bookstores? I hope it comes soon, or I'm gonna have to go buy one!

We don't have a Barnes & Noble so I went to the local bookstore this weekend............they have never heard of the magazine....Now I don't know where to get it!!! I have checked every magazine shelf in town!!smileys/smiley19.gif

I even called Borders and they said that they didn't carry that magazine. I'm definitely going to try B&N again tomorrow. I'm dying to read it cover to cover!!!

Don't forget you can also order the magazine through BeautiNet as a business supply. I think they are sold in 5 and 10 issues. When I place my next order I am going to buy the 5 pack but I wanted a magazine now because 1) I'm impatient and wanted it and 2) I want to be able to use it at my spas between now and the next time I order

That's exactly right, Mistie! I was just having that same impatience problem lol...I will order some in my next order as well!

I'm impatient, too!! I really want to read the articles for myself as well as show them to recruits and at spas.


I called up B&N today and asked the man who answered to check on it for me. I told him yesterday, they couldn't find the magazine in the computer, but I did see last month's magazine (about Avon) in the business section at B&N. He put me on hold and went to check on it. Then he came back and told me that they did have some that they got them in last night. I asked him to put one aside for me and I would be there in one hour (at my lunch) to get the magazine. He told me that he wanted to make sure that he had one in his hand before he told me he could do that. So, he put me on hold again and went to get one. He told me that someone had misplaced them in the women's section, but he had one and he put my name on it.


I went to B&N at lunch to pick the magazine up. When I went to the counter and asked for my reservation, the lady behind the counter went to talk to a few other people. All three came back to the counter and told me that the guy who I spoke with earlier didn't even put one aside for me and they sold out first thing this morning. But since he told me that they had it and I drove over there to pick it up, they said that they are going to give me the magazine for free when it comes in. However, they won't have any in until next week.


I might try to buy one off of my director. LOL. I can't wait another week!!!!

It is such a bummer that he didn't have it put aside. I hate when that happens!

I cant find any in my area either! B&N said that they didn't carry the magazine and either did Borders Books, so I guess im going to order them online. I didnt want to because I forgot to place them with my order the other day and I dont wanna pay the extra shipping but oh well!!! Anyone in the bay area on here that i might be able to split a shipment with? Thanks Ladies!!!

I placed an order (including the Empowering Women magazine) that arrived yesterday...but guess what??...I knew that the magazines would ship seperately, but I got a card in my shipment yesterday and I have to wait 8 MORE days...this is crazy! I hope that it's worth the wait!smileys/smiley2.gif

Leslie, it is WELL worth the wait! The stories in there of the different BeautiControl leaders are amazing! I love how each story is different, allowing women (and men) to realize that this is a business that can fit into ANYone's lifestyle. They sky's the limit with BeautiControl! This magazine is going to be an amazing tool for all of our businesses.
