I have been with KFC for over 4 years. I just received the email today that said my keying accuracy was low and that my account is under review. I have checked my accuracy and it looks like my keying is in error of around 2-3%.

I am so upset. I have a feeling this is the first step in firing me. I have never lost a job in my life. I have been doing data entry for 21 years. I loved this job because I could do it from home.

I would be curious to know what their "acceptable accuracy rate" would be? You're error rate seems really low, but I guess when they don't state what is unacceptable, they can make their own rules :-(

I have been with KFC for about 8 months now and received the same email this morning. Very upsetting to me, too.

2-3% accuracy rate is very good. I checked mine and found that it varies between 1-3% ... BUT there have been a few 4-5%. I have been with them for 5 months and I had wondered what is acceptable vs what is not. They never really tell you. I hope there is some mistake and they email you and tell you everything is OK.

I have been with KFC also for several months although I didn't start really keying until three weeks ago and finally made a payout for last week. I've had about the same incorrect keying rate as you all have been posting about so I imagine I'll probably be getting some email also, and I was just getting the hang of it too!

Yes, I understand the pay is not as well as it used to be and you have to key till your arm falls off and that's ONLY if there is work available, but still something is something and for me right now, it's something!

For those that got those emails, please keep us updated! Best of luck to everyone!

I took the evaluation test and I have finally received a score of 98....is this good and how long will it take before I am hired?

Could be one day, one month or one year. You just have to keep trying to better your score if you want to and wait for them to send you an email. Nobody knows when they are hiring or how many......

Took me three days to get hired....took my friend three months till she got hired. All based on getting lucky with your timing and scores.

Sunshine40 ... have you heard about your account under review yet?

I'm so sorry to hear. How do you check your accuracy, anyways?

How do we check our accuracy. I can't find it on any of the pages.

Simple math. Divide your unconfirmed into total strokes and voila, you have a percentage.

Thanks. Didn't need a smart #$% response. I know how to do math. I asked because it "appeared" that others were getting their percentages from a "stats" area of the website or an email.

I didn't think I gave a smart *#$% response. It was factual. I didn't know how others were getting a percentage either until I thought about it and it came to me how to arrive at the number. I meant no ill harm.

I also got this email today and have been with KFC for years now. I don't think they have a clue what they are doing. I think they are sending these out based on overall number wrong and not as a percentage of what you key. Faster keyers who do more are going to have a higher number of incorrect snippets but not necessarily a lower percentage. Would it be too much to ask a data entry company to know what the heck they are doing in terms of data entry? WOULD IT?

It isn't bad enough that your intentionally impossible to guess "test" snippets reward people who key WRONG but now those who key a lot are being punished for keying fast.

Geezus.

lollypop: could it be that there is cap on how much they pay out for one person as an employee? I am just grabbing at straws here. I can't imagine why a company would not value the people who are seasoned keyers.

Lollypop

That could be it but we are not employees, just independent contractors so not sure why it would matter to them.

It also could be they are taking the entire keying history to figure out percentage. If they are doing that, old time keyers are going to have a higher error rate because the quality of snippets, until recently (maybe 1 year) had been horrid. Most were hand written, blurred, upside down, not correctly positioned, you name it. The quality of the snippets has gotten a lot better under whoever owns the company now but it was not always this way. In any case, without any explanation, one can only surmise that KFC really does not care about tenure or experience.

Their new test on the site says they are constantly testing new ways to verify accuracy. I think it's pretty simple, you have a master and the data entry either matches or it doesn't. To think they need to keep testing new ways to verify accuracy says to me they don't really have a good way to test it now which is bizarre, at best.

Yes, I knew we are IC and not employees. It just doesn't bode well that people can just be thrown under the bus without explanation. But that seems to be the nature of this IC stuff. You either cut the mustard in their eyes or they find someone else who will. (sigh)

Well it's not a matter of "cutting the mustard" when you have a line of people who can (and have) retaken the sign up test and scored 100 percent.

What a joke just got an e-mail that said they re-instated me and to be very careful keying
cause my account has been flagged.

I truly believe they want to get rid of seasoned keyers.

I got the same email, accounts suspended first, then account temporarily re-instated but flagged for further review.... makes me wonder with everyone getting these emails what is happening.

I checked my account and it is the new one that I opened yesterday with new payout date.
They are thoroughly messed up because when I re took the test I used the same e-mail
account and password.

I just got this email today myself. I replied to see what I'm doing wrong because my keying error rate is 0.00%. I do my best to key well. I think I will stop skipping ones hard to read and just get out of it. Maybe that is what is hurting me. I don't know? Maybe it was the checkboxes I recently did, but it said I got zero wrong on them. I don't know. A little upset about this. :(

I too sent an email inquiring about what I was doing wrong and my response was...part of the evaluation process is measuring potential keyers ability to determine what should be keyed or not keyed based on the directions provided. Please review the keying instructions for each work type before you begin keying...not too helpful

viwiz

db55, I got that exact response ... and I found it insulting. I am not in the evaluation process, first off. I told them that in my reply back and I also told them that their instructions do not cover all situations. I ended the reply telling them I would figure it out myself. If they let me go, .... whatever. Talk about lack of caring if people succeed.

My account was closed and I sent KFC a letter stating I never received a warning letter. Then I received an email saying I was reinstated with a warning letter. But I can not log back in. Sent them another email and waiting for reply! LOL

Thanks for all the encouraging words. This is strange. I decided to focus on other eggs I put on hold to focus on them so I only did $1.55 today. I did Textbroker and Mturk instead, because I can't put all my eggs in the typing basket if they plan on letting me go. I did what I said and got out of a snippet if it was a SKIP or unreadable one. That's why I'm so low. Hope others have a better experience with this.

What's the pay rate now? I signed up a couple of years ago but stopped because there was never work. don't remember the pay rate back then but it was pretty decent (for data entry). soon after, I heard they were lowering the pay rate...it was ridiculously low. Wondering if they're trying to get rid of the veterans (who are working the higher pay rate) and keeping the newbies (lower pay rate).
