I just got back from my booth that I had at a local street festival. We had a hard time getting people to come over to the table, so I decided to put up a sign for free hand massages. That seemed to help bring people over to our booth. People were a little more willing to stop if they knew they were getting something out of it.

Once we got them over to our booth, we did the Show of Hands on them. We had them use the SOH and then sprayed their hands down with a water bottle. We then had them wipe as much salt as they could off with half of a paper towel (those "choose your own size" paper towels). It took about two sprays and wipings before we got most of the salt off. So, it really wasn't too bad. Using a pitcher with water was kind of out of the question for us out on the street.

After the SOH, we massaged their hands with either Extreme Repair Hand Therapy, Herbal Serenity Foot Creme, or Margarita Foot Creme. Then we asked them to fill out a skin care survey (which was passed out at my last unit meeting). I'll be happy to send them out to anyone who wants them. After they filled out the surveys, we gave them a gift certificate for a complimentary spa with 10 friends and a sample of the bath minerals with my business card attached.

I got about six good prospects for spa parties and two good prospects for recruits. Another consultant in my area also stopped by and said that she is moving next month and going to stop doing BeautiControl because she doesn't have the time for it. She picked up my card and told me that she would refer all of her regular clients to me.

So, for standing outside for six hours, it wasn't too bad. Hopefully those who wanted spa parties will still book them!!

Thanks for all of the tips on this board. They really helped me prepare.

That is great Jeanie! Congratulations on your prospects! How wonderful that the consultant is going to refer her clients to you! Wow!! That is great news!!

Hi Jeanie! I was just curious if you think that the invites designed at
spapostcards.com were poster size for booths would help attract
attention to your booth....

Thanks.

I think that would definitely attract more attention. Unfortunately, some of the booths I am doing are lacking for space. So for me it would have to be a size that easily fits on an easel for display on the table.

The posters we had in mind would only be about 11x14 -- so not too
much-- and the price would only be $10 per poster. One consultant
from Pennsylvania had our design made into a poster at Kinkos and it
cost her $50. When she realized all the designs were copyrighted and not
to be recreated - she was kind enough to let us know and requested that
we make posters for really cheap beacause they would help.

Perfect size and yes, I would order them. I passed along the information to my Director because our unit is very active in booths. I personally do 4 - 5 a year.

Anything to help us stand out and have people pay attention would be helpful. I will be doing a booth in the same area as Sensaria and Warm Spirit in the fall. It's in the health and wellness section with a chance to really pamper guests who visit the booth. Included in the area will be calm music and a water fountain! I am really happy about being able to participate!
