For those contemplating joining Barefoot Books I wanted to give you a heads up that the Ambassador program will be changing in September. Currently, you can join for free and there are no real starter kits to buy. Some enjoy this freedom this offers but many were joining and not sure what to buy or how to start (often new Ambassadors were coming into the forums specifically asking for a starter kit) so Barefoot Books responded by creating a starter kit and revamping the kickstart bonus program.
So if you are thinking of joining you currently have 2 options:
JOIN NOW and you aren't required to buy a starter kit or anything. If you place a stock order (min $250 for $500+ of inventory) within your first 60 days you'll receive a gift set worth about $100 for free as a bonus. (If you have even the smallest inkling that you may want to be a Barefoot Books Ambassador and are on a budget I recommend joining now. I can help you get started without a pre-packaged starter kit! You can take your time and figure out what you want to do since there are no obligations, fees, required activity levels, etc. in being an Ambassador.)
JOIN IN OR AFTER SEPTEMBER by purchasing the new starter kit for $139.99. Hi, registered to be an ambassador for barefoot books, but I don't think the registration is complete, but cannot find my info anywhere, and don't know how to set up the books on my website. Also, I thought perhaps I could re-register to start over, and cannot because my email apparently is registered. What should I do?:confused:

One thing which attracted me to Barefoot books was that it was free to join. But now, it just looks like every other over-priced MLM out there, complete with MLM language. Thank you,no.

Honestly, it makes me sad too. I'm not a huge fan of required starter kits so that's why I put the head up out there! Though I do think the book prices are in line with what you will find in your local bookstores for the most part.
For anyone out there wondering, the *new* program with required starter kit has yet to go live. When it does I will try to remember to pop back in here and update. For now, it's still free to join.

yeah thats the reason i joined this company... i didnt have to put any money up front. but i have barely sold anything and put some money into it now. i just dont have time with having my son and im babysitting for a friend. thinking about selling the part of my stock that i dont want. bummer that they arent free anymore.

I totally understand the time thing! Definitely reach out to your team leads and try brainstorming with them on ways to kickstart your business, if you haven't already. You can also sell your inv on the BFB forum if need be.

When it was free I had a ton of people sign up under me but know one sold squat. In the weekly chat they said they started charging to get more people to commit to the business. It helps weed out the people who are not serious about the business.
