My laptop is dying. If I am going to go back to being a WAHM I am going to need a new one, but do not have much $$ right now to put towards one. I will be doing freelance writing, web design, possibly virtual assistant work. I hope! Any suggestions? ;)

Or you can go to Craigslist to buy a used one. These days, PC are inexpensive.

What is your budget? Craigslist is a great place to find a a used computer, but be warned that you get what you pay for, so if you're not comfortable replacing parts, ect. Then it might be worth getting a new one. Lots of companies (Dell, for example) have payment plans. So, that's another option.
If you have the skills, you can build one pretty cheaply. Or ask someone you know to build one for you? My main concern is if you're doing any kind design work, you're going to need a decent computer to be able to handle all the software.
If you are looking for a new (not super expensive computer) or for parts, try newegg.com It's where we get all the parts for our PC's.
Hope this helps!

The library is a great resource for free computer use. I don't know where you live but that would be a great place to check out. My city has the best library ever.
Also ~ Walmart seems to have some super deals on computers once in a while, need to keep your eyes posted, especially around the holidays and/or back to school.
I actually have the same situation with my laptop. Am working with my desk top and am very thankful for a son who fixes computers.

I suggest you get a refurbished one from Amazon. The ones there are less expensive than new laptops (not as cheap as you may find on Craigslist), and if the order is fulfilled by Amazon, you have a reasonable assurance/guarantee that any one you buy there will last.

I'd advise getting a cheap one for now to keep you ticking over, then invest in a better one when you have the finds. You need a new one though, that effects your business in a big way...

This is the perfect time for this question! Last year I bought a laptop about this time of year. There will be tons of back to school sales on computers almost anywhere that sells them. I got a great HP laptop for a little over $200 at Walmart. Noticed Best Buy and Office Depot had similar deals. Watch the sale flyers or get online and check it out.
