Hi there,
I have a question about Celebration. While I would LOVE to go, it is
still going to cost me about $1000 to attend. I just can't afford it
right now until my business earns more of a profit. Everyone says it
really boosts your business, but I am wondering how?
I am not trying to sound negative or skeptical, but if the money isn't
there, how can I possibly attend? Anybody else wonder similar thoughts?

Celebration gives you a bigger picture of where your business can take you! The seminars give you a step by step way of making your dreams a reality.
Here is my story:
Last year I went to Celebration in a funk. I admit I was not real happy about my circumstances and my Mother-in-law just died. I roomed with my Director (a great mentor) and had long talks with her. We didn't get much sleep the whole time!
The energy of my unit (I live far away from them now) and the rest of the attendees really brighten my mood! What I heard a top Director say in a seminar was exactly how I conducted business. She was telling us about how hard it was for her to change, but her business really grew after she did. If her business took off after she did this then mine has a good chance to do the same if I work at it!
Yes, you can hear these same things from your Director at your local meetings. But I think it holds a lot more weight when you hear it from all the successful people in our company.
My suggestion is to room with people in your unit to keep your room costs down. I may have room in mine, but not sure yet. Depends what happens with my husband. He may not be able to attend. If I do, I will be posting that.
The cost of Celebration includes lunch and dinner on Saturday as well as the new products they give to every attendee.
What I do is set aside some of my profits from each of my parties to help with the cost of attending.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, Vicki! That does help me a lot. I know a lot of people that are
already going so maybe I can room with someone. My goal is to try to
set aside some money to help defray the cost.
It sounds like it would be really valuable. I am a school teacher and I
always gained a lot of good ideas from workshops and conventions, so
this would probably be the same.
Thanks again!

Angie,
My funk did disappear and I have grown my business significantly since attending. This one event I never want to miss again! I know it will help you too. We all may have different goals. The friendships you make and the things you learn make this an event to attend!
Also, I have heard it is going to be the biggest and most fun Celebration yet!

I am so excited for Celebration, too! Definitely find ways to save some money on the cost. Room with others, compare flights, go to Costco or Sam's Club and purchase energy bars and bottled water/juice/soda and other snacks for your meals (that usually adds up quickly when you eat out there), and makie it your goal to Spa America like crazy between now and then!
Last year, I almost didn't attend, because I had a budgeted amount and some of the people I was going to room with wound up not going. Fortunately, my Director was one of the people in the group and she told me that I could just bring whatever money I had budgeted because she DID NOT want me to miss this chance. I almost cried! Then, as if that wasn't enough, she checked out before me because she had an earilier flight. When I went to check out, my total bill was only $40! She had paid all of that for me and blessed me more than I could have imagined! Not to mention all the mentoring she had done in our long conversations..about BeautiControl and life in general.
Sorry to go on so long, but I just wanted to share and let everyone know that when you put your needs out there and work towards them, God meets them in many different ways. So I would say work hard (I know we all are!) and share your goals and desires, and remember, anything is possible if we believe it.

Recruiters and Directors will go out of their way to get their unit at Celebration! It is such an empowering 3 days! How wonderful that your Director did that you you Shawn!
I plan on helping any way I can for my consultants to attend. I have never regretted the money spent to attend!

Shawn,
You are very intuitive! I spoke to my husband about it last evening and I have decided to go!! Woo-hoo!!
I have only been a consultant for a few months, but I just love everything about it. I would cry if I had to give it up. Thanks for everyone's advice on here. It really persuaded me to go!

Angie,
YEAH! I look so forward to meeting you! I went in my first year of business after being a consultant for a few months too. It really was impressive. I thought it was going to be just like the other conventions I went to. But I found out that is way different!
I am so glad to hear your husband is supportive of you attending! It helps when they get the big picture too.

Vicki,
How long have you been a consultant? After hearing everyone talk about
Celebration, I just know I would love it and get a lot out of it.
I have been an elementary school teacher for the last 12 years. I just
got married six months ago and my husband and I are ready to start a
family. I would like to be a stay at home mom when that happens! BC
would be a GREAT way to earn an extra income when I give up teaching.
I attended two spa parties several months ago and thought it was the
greatest thing! I knew this was something I would be interested in
trying. I love every part of it! There are many things I like about
teaching, but I am not as excited anymore about it. Burn out, maybe?
Who knows. I am usually exhausted by the end of the school year, so
maybe that is it. The earning potential with BeautiControl and the
flexibility is what sold me. The girl that recruited me has since quit
selling BC,so I am kind of feeling like an orphan, but I am on Shelley
Callahan's team, so it is a really good one. Everyone I have met in my
unit (and on this board) is so nice and I love talking to people!
My husband is the greatest in the whole world! I was the skeptical one
at first, but he was actually the one that encouraged me to get
started. He pointed out that there was not one other business
opportunity that he could think of in which start up costs where under
$400!
I booked six parties in April, but only two of them actually stuck. I
haven't been able to book any yet for May, but have three already for
June!
Gosh, I have really rambled here! Sorry about that. I just love this
new business venture. If someone told me I had to stop, I think I would
burst into tears!!

Angie,
I started BeautiControl in March, 2003. In 2004, I had to take a step back from the business and just remain active. It was sooo hard to do! But we were moving across country from TX back to IL. It took forever for our house to sell in TX. Then we moved to an area where we knew no one, so I had to rebuild the business.
So I do know what you mean about feeling like anorphan. My recruiter is my Director and she is in Houston.Email is a wonderful thing! Iget nice emails from her every week. I hate to hear when people recruit and then leave. My own personal pet peeve I guess! I would never sign people up and then just quit.
2006 has been an amazing year so far! I started recruiting in January and May 1, received a promotion of Unit VIP! Some may think that is slow, but that is just me. Recruiting came along at the time I was ready for it and had the personal business to support it.
I do stay at home with our daughter, but love the fact she is in pre-school. She has 3 weeks left and then it will get interesting! It will be harder to get my email and talking on the phone impossible. She will conjure up "emergencies" to lure me off. But she is one of my biggest fans!
The other one is my husband who believes in my dreams and supports me in my journey! When I promoted this month, there were tears in his eyes. We will be married 15 years on the 18th.
I would cry too if I had to give this up! My enthusiasm and excitement for this business never wanes. Yes, it would have been easy to give up when we moved here. But I believe in myself and this wonderful opportunity! I never focus on how much product I am selling. It is about helping others get rid of the stress in their lives. When I see them look relaxed that is the best part of it all!
One thing I do when trying to get bookings is make it so irrestible they can't say no.Who doesn't want to feel relaxed? I wish I had a script, but I really don't. I will try to write one so you can see what I mean.
You all have to know I love to talk! Since we are on a break from our conference calls, I will apologize up front for long winded posts!
