Hey everyone,

Quick backstory. I'm a paramedic struggling to make ends meet with school and other things. I'm actually not a mother, but my partner is and she recommended that I visit this website. I've been trying to learn a lot about transcription services (I type pretty fast and I'm pretty computer literate) and I would like to get started. I do have a few questions though...

Which companies are willing to hire a newbie like me?
As a paramedic and soon-to-be entry medical student (money pending), are there companies that will hire me as a medical transcriber?
How much can I expect to make on average for let's say... 8 hours of solid work?
And lastly, can I donate to this website some where? It's quite a resource and I don't see any other way to contribute.

Thanks!

Hi katpriv,

There is a sticky post with a list of companies that you can send your resume to. Some hire newbies and some don't but look through the list to see what you can find.

Medical transcriptionists generally are required to have completed an MT course, but you could become a general transcriptionist without any formal training.

And lastly, can I donate to this website some where?

I think this site is supported by advertising.
