Hi

I finally signed up to be an independent consultant I'm very excited. Now that I have signed up I'm running into difficulties. I'm trying to find out through my upline if I'm in any violation of sales in foriegn countries. I'm military wife live in Germany. I'm not going to sell to anyone other than military/dependents. So I'm hoping it is ok. Then I have to get through my next hoop of making it legal over here for me to have a home based business. So right now I'm just working it to family back home so I'm in no violations of anything.

But just wanted to say hi. i love reading your all's posts. I have a question I've had my RE9 kit for 1 1/2 wks the 1st week i loved it and my face looked better, this week I'm having breakouts. Do you think it is just cleaning up impurities down deep or what?

Also it is hard for me to get alot from my upline, don't get me wrong they are great but everything is through email and major time differences and they are new too. So I've liked getting info from you all too. I hear about spa parties and the trade shows. When you are demonstrating these products at these places how are you doing it? And what are you using at the spa parties. Give me a step by step product demonstrations that you all do at these places.

You all have given me lots of ideas and I can't wait to get the go ahead to get started, I loved the post about party games the envelope thing is a great idea! Everyone loves to gamble just a little. If everything works out this is a great place to start because not many people are doing anything over here cause all the red tapeand I don't know if anyone has even heard of A*******

Thanks again keep up the great posts smileys/smiley4.gif

I just want to say again I love my upline but it is hard being so far away and you all are so handy cause when all of you all are sleeping or supposed to be sleeping i can come and see what all is new.

I just wanted to make sure that I didn't sound like they don't help me or I don't appreciate all they do for me cause they do and I do, they are probably tired of all my questions.

I was just reading what I wrote and thought I better make that clear, cause it might of sounded bad. That is all http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Hi Heidi and welcome!! I remember you from awhile back because my sister had just returned from Germany (her husband stationed there after Iraq) and that you have a Jonah to smileys/smiley1.gif

I am learning so much from this board to and over on the party plan board- this whole site is great!! One suggestion you may have already tried....anything you need to know try searching the archives, I have spent HOURS reading the archives of this site. Also, as many on this board know, I have sent pm's to individuals for more info as well when I read something and want to know more. I have gotten lots of help, support and info smileys/smiley1.gif(thank you everyone!)

Best of luck to you!

Hello! I lived in Heidelberg for two years (husband military).

I don't know what to think about you doing this overseas. Yes, you are on a military base, and as long as it is not going to be shipped to you, that I think is the biggest problem because of import / export laws ( i think, don't know for sure). I also know, that it is abuse of the APO address for Pampered chef. For awhile, they would not allow people to do pampered chef, because it was bogging down the mail system. At least in 2007 when Arbonne goes international, you'll be able to sell to Germans!

Part of the Status of Forces Agreement says I can't use my APO to get packages for my business, but I can get my own personal products and the company can send to individual client's APO's. I have to sign an agreement and all that. I can't use my car, my APO, gas bought on base, AAFES to buy any products for my business. They go a little overboard but whatever. The big thing is the mail. So I won't sell any products from my home. If anyone wants to purchase they just have to do it from the Website and have it sent directly to them. But I still have to look into getting a host nation tax ID# and stuff. If it is too big of a deal I'll just have to sell online w/ family and friends back home.

I don't think UPS will ship to APO, that might be the other problem. Because UPS will only ship to the German address.

I think online, state side folks might be the only way till they go international.

APO stands for (I think) American Post Office... in Germany you'll have an an address like this:

SGT Ace Ventura

85th Field Artillary BN

APO, NY 12345 (whatever zip) address
[/list]

so it's UPS til NY then the military mail from there on... there's one on the west coast for those stationed in Korea, Japan, etc, but that one is something like AFO.... anyhow, so yes APO, NY addresses can get A*... and still pay as if their mail is going to NY, as opposed to Germany which is very expensive. The soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan would also have an APO address.smileys/smiley2.gif

I lived in Korea and Germany and never knew that if I changed the AE / AP to NY that then I could get UPS to send a package. Because everytime I put AE / AP in the state, it would say "We do not ship to APO Address".

Wow... after all that time, I thought just the postal system was the only opition.

My address reads APO, AE 09137

Just like city, state zip and postage is the same as in states. Some places won't mail here, don't know why.

If you have anyone that wants to purchase from A**** and live at an APO, they have to put APO in the city and county then click on AE for state. AP is for the pacific area instead of AE.

But this is part of the problem the foreign country, for me Germany, doesn't want us to use the APO box for business since it is a tax free item for me. Here for a german mail you have to pay for it and postage is more expensive. They don't want us to use our tax advantages to make money. But it is ok for my clients to order online and have it sent directly to them.

I think I'm going to have to hold off on making this my big business. For me to get approval on base I have to do all these things they want which is fine except I have to get a host nation tax number and pay taxes to the German govt and not US. But since Arbonne is not over here yet I think I'd be in violation of their policies and procedures by paying taxes here and not in US since that is where they are reporting my income to. So I'm in a catch 22. Anyway I'm going to have to stick to marketing it back home to family and friends and then to friends here on the down low. No active advertising and drawing attention to myself. My hope was to be RVP in 3 yrs when i left here but that will have to wait! Anyway I'll still be cruising this board looking for info and tips to use back home!
