I am so frustrated, I have been applying to work at home jobs over and over and no responses. I don't get it, I have 15 years experience in customer service, outbound calls, call monitoring and I get nothing. I have no idea what to do. I just want a job that pays by the hours

Hi! I understand it can be very frustrating! Just remember, it's NOT you! You are competing against hundreds, maybe thousands of people for work at home jobs. Sometimes it amounts to the luck of the draw, you know, whoever's application was on the top of the pile. So don't be hard on yourself, it's just that there is so much competition!
I hope that helps!

I agree with blinky. It is a very tough employment market right now, and lots of people are applying for open positions. Just keep applying for as many things as you can and don't give up hope. Don't get discouraged. It's not you. :)

It is frustrating..I know..I personally like the advice of having many "eggs" that will add up ....maybe not to apply to just one job? but do some freelance stuff? It will get better for you as you learn what kinds of things are out there :)

I agree with soniabegonia - try some different things like freelancing jobs, writing for people, etc. I personally never did find anything so I went my own route and am so glad i did, but I know many people DO make money by working phone or writing jobs. So hang in there!

There are many people out of work, so you have to be certain you present yourself as the best candidate for the job. Without knowing the specifics of your situation; I can only give general suggestions. First how long have you been applying? Companies hire at peak times, sometimes you’ll hear nothing for a couple of months, and then get several offers all at once. Have you reviewed your resume/online applications for errors, prominently displayed skill set, etc. ? Do you have the necessary home office equipment i.e. Landline, PC requirements, etc.? Do you live in the US? Are you in a state that many wah companies hire in? Those are a few things to consider. Most importantly keep applying and stay positive. Employers want happy upbeat candidates. Best wishes

I'm going to have to agree. You never know what these companies are looking for and even when you do, you got to remember that if there are only a couple positions open, once a company has placed an ad for a job, they are overwhelmed with resumes. They can get literally hundreds a day. If there are a couple people looking at all these, you can imagine how they will skim through very quickly and disqualify those probably not even based on experience. If the format is not professional or there's a typo in the application. Or even if the duties that were performed and/or company where employed is a turnoff or a competitor to the employer. You really just never know. The best thing is to keep track of everywhere you applied and not let the rejection stop you from applying to others. Start searching for the jobs that aren't advertised. That's what I did. I looked back through my sent emails to all the jobs that I've applied to the past couple of years and saw if they were still in business. Then I contacted a few to see if there was any positions open. I got some good leads this way. As well as the work home lists that are already online. Here, wplh, workathomemafia (huge list by the way), workhomespace, demi work home job blog (daily job leads), rat race rebellion, and more. There is even a forum at virtual vocations where daily leads are posted - free. Good luck to you. Keep at it. Believe me, you'll find something soon.

Hey There!!! SMILE- Get Excited & Stay Excited™!!
I completely understand your frustrations. Most of what the previous posters/members say is true. You have to understand that there is a lot of competition out there for work at home jobs. Especially now that they are in the AWARENESS stage now. In the past, many of these companies weren't open about the fact that they hired telecommuters. I have helped people since 2003/2004 through one of my companies I own to find jobs from home & even with some of my connections with some of these companies say that (1) there is a lot of competition, (2) candidates need to be creative with how they apply, (3) more experience & home office equipment is required, (4)background & financial checks- for some- are required now...
It was because of the fact that there were so many requirements, lay-offs, no stability with those jobs that I stopped doing work from home jobs. I just helped people who really wanted a JOB from home to get that. I, personally, prefer to work for myself which I've been doing successfully.
But my advice to you is to be VERY PROACTIVE...check out freelance work, maybe apply to work for a local company for 6 months then ask to telecommute if the position permits (I've had lots of clients & friends who did this), keep applying/ re-applying to the jobs...
I may have some companies you haven't applied for yet. You can send an email to cs[at]blessed2behome.org and my CS Department will get you over a listing for free. Just put in the subject line Work From Home Jobs and in the body put that you're from WAHM.com and what type of positions you're looking for & we'll see what we have in our database. I am NOT allowed to post many of those companies names here because they don't permit it and if they find out, I could lose my relationship with them as well as they can potentially pull from marketing their at-home positions.
I hope this helps. Keep the faith!!! Everything will be ok.

I want to thank all of you for your encouragement. I send out resumes daily so I'm still hopeful I hear something. I worked for a company for 16 years so it's hard to get out there again but I am trying. I did send you an email Kantrese "Tresie" Smith. Again thank you all for being there

Especially nowadays with the economy, more and more people are starting to turn towards working from home. Keep your head up, think positive and keep trying. Have you tried Liveops? They are not hourly, but I believe they pay by the minute plus bonuses which adds up. Especially on weekends. :-)
* I might be wrong about the pay...been a long time since I've actually worked for them, so don't remember that well.
Good luck!

don't give up. Have a glass of tea, relax, look over your resume again and keep trying. It took me a year to decide on the one I am working now and I am glad I waited. The bg fee was high and I wondered how long it would take me to recover from that. Well, that one year got them a new client that didn't need such a high bg fee and this has been so well worth it.
ratracerebellion dot com is a great newsletter for the spreadsheet info. You can chat with the Editors on Face Book too.
I'm fond of my pt jobs at westathome.net and LiveOps.com so between the two, if one is slow on grabbing hours, I can go to the other. Try them, I think you will like at least one and they may hire now even though it is the slow season till late August.
Keep smiling, that makes you money. :D.

It is a terrible economy out there. Unemployment on U-6 (Great Depression formula used for unemployment) is near 20%. I really hope that you find something. Sometimes a lot of small stuff is good too.
