I am new to the Company and have signed up as a Business Builder. My team does not do parties, only presentations. From my experience so far, everyone loves RE9 when I have them use it for a few days. After they have used the product, I then sit down with them and walk through the flipchart that shows the product and business opportunity.

My upline has just informed me that we should now start showing the flipchart and the "business opportunity" before having people use the product. Their mindset is that it will"qualify our prospect and then sharethe productwith them at a one on one appointment"

I had a presentation on Friday and some of the ladies did not use the product first and they were totally confused and turned off thinking I wanted them to sell the product. I don't want to lose potential customers because they think I'm pushing them to be a business builder.

What is your opinion on this approach? Does anyone do this or are they encouraged by their upline to?

Thanks muchsmileys/smiley5.gif

My upline tends to have this approach, but I was never comfortable with it. To me, it is there way of only looking for people interested in the business, and stepping over anyone who may just want the product and maybe decide to do the business in the future after falling in love with the product. I know if I was approached with the business first, I would have said no to all of it, product included. I am sure there are some who would jump at the business approach if presented in such a way, but how many customers, wholesale buyers, and possible future bbs will be turned off this way?

If you are not comfortable with this approach, than don't do it.

When you drop off the product/sample for them to use, you can always let them know up front that you are looking for a few people who would like to join your team and leave them with a curiosity pack. In a non-pushy way, you could ask them to look it over, and if it is not for them, they may know someone who is looking for an opportunity such as this. Most importantly though, you would love for them to try the product and fall in love with it!!

Good luck!

Those gals were invited there to try your product line, right? Looking at it
from the customer's view, they got the ole "bait-n-Switch" routine. How
many would have shown up if you had said "Please come over to Mary's
house and I'll tell you about a great business opportunity"? Few, if any...
That is a completely different meeting.

For your regular in-home presentations, you can liberally "sprinkle"
business information in a subtle way, while they are going "ga-ga" over
what they are experiencing. Example: "When I earned the trip to Tahiti
last year, I found that I really enjoyed having our Super-Duper Sunblock
on hand, and it seemd to work better than what I used to use". Easy,
comfortable, simple. At the END of your presentation, you can spend a
minute encouraging anyone who may have an interest in supplementing
their current income, to get with you for an information packet.

Follow your team leader's advice as long as it does not conflict with your
own method of doing business. Remember it's YOUR business.

I would do whatever YOU feel comfortable with. This is your business. Even thoughsomething may work wonderfully for someone else, doesn't mean that it will for you. Try what your upline suggested. If it doesn't work for you, find something that does. You are NOT obligated to do what your upline does.

I always present the opportunity first and then the business when I do parties. I present it by saying that while they may not be interested, someone they know may be. It is about a 5 minute blurb and I only pass around certain slides from the REsults presentation.

I haven't had any complaints so far and I have been doing this for 1+ years.

We are in an area of the country that is extremely unfamiliar with Arbonne. If I used that approach, I'd getnowhere fast!

People just don't want to feel like all you care about is getting them into the business so they can spend money so you can make money off them. Even if that is not what the true Arbonne opportunity is about, that is what they will think at first because they have probably been through it before with other people.

I have a friend who does another business and the focus is totally on "get 2 people and they get 2 people and so on" They have products, but they don't focus on them and she's 3 years into the business and not made one dime. I'm 4 months into Arbonne and already getting override checks on top of my commissions. Which do you think is working better? I say go PRODUCTS first - that is for everyone; the business is not for everyone.

Also I would recommend Spa Parties if you can manage them. Why talk with one person at a time when you can talk to 3 or 4 or more at a time? We have a lot of support on parties as well as Results Approach, let me know if you need a few quick party tips!

Oh Heather, that is EXACTLY what I would have written, only instead of the "friend" who was in that "get 2 people" company, that was ME!! For 3 years I tried my best and flew to conventions all over the country. The ONLY thing I did in that 3 years was to sell some of the product to some relatives and friendswhen I shared what I was enjoying myself. I never found even 1 person who wanted to join my team.

My upline did a presentation for me at my house and it was horrible and boring. If I had been a guest, I would not have been happy. It was ALL about the business with a brief mention of some products and no one bought anything or was interested in the biz.

I am SO much happier with A**** and being able to have fun spa parties!!! I have found it SO much less nerve wracking and am even doing everything on my own!!!! I am already earning money, already have many clients, and everyone I speak to is very interested to hear about our products...and when they try them, they want them! I am building some great relationships and actually having fun! Imagine that. One of the things I love most about this company is that there are SO many different ways that you can build it! So, from experience, my advice is to find whats comfortable for you and go for it!!

Best of luck to you smileys/smiley1.gif
