One of my pet peeves clicking on a link and being sent to a lead cap. page.. When I want to research some information about a company mentioned I go looking for the company web site. I have access to cap. pages but from personal preference I just don't use them..

My question is are people having any success with them? I'm more of the upfront type where it's here's the name of the company, here's the products we offer and if you have any interest in a product or the opportunity feel free to contact me..

I fully understand not all things are for all people but I'm sure I'm not the only one who has reservations about how they are used..but if the numbers say they work I just might have to change my thought process..

I totally agree Cornelius. Some lead captures do give some information, but most of them won't tell you a thing until you fill in all the contact information. I prefer a company or personal website connected to a company site.

I, too, wonder how effective they are. Personally, I like a more up front and honest approach.

Capture pages are used to get the attention of a targeted niche. Once a name and email address are submitted you get more info on that company or product being offered. They have your email and can send you messages daily to get your attention and build their customer list.
It works but I also don't like to fill in my info before I see everything about a company.

I love capture pages and started having true success online by using them. The key is to have an ad so compelling that the prospect can hardly resist and just has to put in their contact info to know more! Even if they put in a fake name and phone number, they usually put in a correct email address.

I know that everyone, including myself, in my current business is using capture pages successfully because of a great follow up system. Between my sponsor and myself we've signed up over 65 new members....and I give our success credit directly to the ads, capture page and team follow up system we are using.

When I place an ad though, I do give information about my company name and my phone number; so the person can check it out and get back with me if they have the personality where they refuse to fill out the form.

I definitely use lead capture pages but it does depend on the marketing method in terms of when they are used and when they are not.

They sort through the curious for the serious and if you don't know who's visiting your site....

Most of mine do have a "contact me" option or my contact info for someone who would rather go that route.

I'd like to make a distinction: a lead capture page isn't intended to be a company site. It's not intended to explain the company, the product and the opportunity.

My lead capture page is used to introduce people to ME and WHAT I CAN DO FOR THEM. That's all. But when they opt in, they'll not only learn about me and what I do for people.....but, yes, they'll also get information on what we do and how we do it.

Further, it's a place for me to sort out those who are serious from those who are curious. Serious people can request a phone call from me....I usually meet them by phone....talk about their goals and provide them some information.....and it also allows me to follow up with them via email. (Which of course I could not do if they hadn't provided some contact information on a website.)

My question is are people having any success with them? I'm more of the upfront type where it's here's the name of the company, here's the products we offer and if you have any interest in a product or the opportunity feel free to contact me..

There's nothing at all wrong with that, Cornelius. But the problem is that you have no way of knowing if someone comes to your site to inquire about your business. And since we all know that most people aren't going to join/buy on their first visit to a website.....then you may be losing some of your best prospects.

But, I think the best indicator of whether to use a lead capture page in one's marketing is just to ask, "What kind of results am I getting by NOT using one?" If you're enrolling 3-6 people weekly in your business by just using the company site and NOT collecting your prospect's information.....well, then, you probably don't need one!.

But, if someone's not happy with the number of people they're talking to daily, the number of people they're putting in front of a presentation each week....the number of people they're enrolling.....then it might be a tool worth considering.
