Ok, one of my brother's friends is seriously considering have a candle party. It will be mostly young, single men in their early 20's. What could I do to make the party more guy friendly. I don't think candle games would work with this crowd. Should it be more of an open house? Any suggestions?

Lolsmileys/smiley36.gif Yes, I think an open house would work out better. To combine with an event is even better to get the best turn out. Stephanie has the right idea too.

Good luck!

LOL! Stefanie!

My husband's best friend actually purchases his candles through my online store - I've sold candles to 4 men at my office that absolutely love candles- so we KNOW guys buy them.

An open house seems like a great idea - but a "party" in itself isn't that bad if it's really geared towards the guys. My husband's idea won't fly (well it would for the guys... he said hire a stripper smileys/smiley5.gifsmileys/smiley36.gif). You can conduct it "open house" style, meaning no "games", but see if they are having some finger foods and such available like wings, sodas, etc. Give a brief overview of the products and company - then say - lets just cut to the chase! Check out some of what I brought and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have!

I'm just grabbing thoughts, they may or may not work LOL.... some thoughts would be:

*create a small display with small signs. For example, next to apple berry cobbler, have a little sign that says "give your home that 'fresh baked' appeal without even trying to cook". Next to Clean Cotton, have one that says "love having that 'fresh smell'? Have it all the time!" Next to Sex on the Beach put one that says "Need I say anything more?" I'd keep thesignsa little on the humorous side smileys/smiley2.gifsmileys/smiley36.gif

At the end stress that "in all seriousness" they will find these are the best performing candles without the ugliness of the black soot they will ever experience - and what a way to impress guestswhen they invite someone over to their place smileys/smiley2.gifEdited by: dreamakr36

I think simple is best. If it is before Mother's day maybe I can sell that point and sell some stock. Maybe buy some cute bags and offer gift wrap?!

I love the route of mothers day gifts. The gift wrap is great too cause if a guy really did want to buy one for his mom or girlfriend he definitly doesn't want to wrap it. Even if you could find some cheap cards or something. I know at my local dollar store you can get cards for 50cents a piece. You can even put that on the invitation. One stop shopping for mom.

Oh i forgot to say, that you could also center it around a sport of some kind. Like you can have some snacks in black and white bowls and that kind of thing and then have it right before a nascar race and then they guys can buy candles and then you can leave and they can stay with thier buddy to watch the race. Or you can do it during the race and they could "shope" during the commercials!smileys/smiley36.gif
