Can someone please tell me that if I have a new recruit can she tell them what type of jar candle, votives and bella bar she wants first?

I think this can either make me or break me.

No everyone gets SOCP the first month with a random Bella Bar.

Why is this?

I don't know. I guess because it is one of their best sellers. Personally I'm not crazy over it and I never burned my jar only one votive. I like Chilli Vanilli much better. Ruth

You can always call corporate and ask them - I don't think they will give a choice of the large variety of scents, butthey may offer the choice of the current COTM (Chili Vanilli) or the SO&CP. It's worth the phone call to find out smileys/smiley2.gif

Thanks, I will call Monday morning.

It is because it is the biggest seller and it helps new recruits have enough to make new scent samples up and ready to go. It also tested as the most universally appealing scent we have. If they were to start with the scent of the month right away,if it happens to be a "odd new scent" it mightturn people off.

It used to be Hot Apple Pie as the first shipment. As Sandy said, it doesn't hurt to ask. I would think it would be hard to intercept the order and change the order.

Good luck!smileys/smiley1.gif

Hi Deanna,

Did hubby tell you I called yesterday? Missed you when you were out
running errands!

Let's get "C" back on the line! I'll be around the house today, whenever
you're ready.smileys/smiley17.gif

The reason we start with SO&CP is that it is our Signature Scent, can not
be obtained anywhere but through Mia Bella, and is our hands-down top
seller. The other thing to point out is that when she joins, she is able to
order anything else that she likes immediately at wholesale prices, which
are in most cases 50% or greater discount than retail price.

Give me a buzz when you're ready!

I had one recruit HATE the scent. I was wondering the same thing about SO&CP. Hot Apple Pie seems to be a gentler intro to our line. But I guess the company knows best. smileys/smiley2.gif

I joined when the first Candle of the Month Club was the Hot Apple Pie. I love it, but think that the Sweet Orange and Chili Pepper is equally as wonderful!smileys/smiley20.gif

I'm on my way to go have FUN!!smileys/smiley36.gif

I'll have my "office" with me, so call me if anyone needs me!smileys/smiley31.gif

Personally, I am NUTS over SO&CP, but I can see how it's strength would turn some off.

When I joined, I was really looking forward to receiving my SO&CP shipments, but instead I received Coconut Macaroon which was the candle of the month. I made use of the votives and I'm still burning the jar. I ordered SO&CP votives for my scent samples because they are sooooo noticable!

I can only suggest you contact the head office and ask.

Blessings,

Vicki

I'm one who isn't a SO&CP fan. It is just too orange for me. The smell of orange reminds me a cleaning with orange glo.smileys/smiley11.gif When I recieve my first COTM I only burned one votive and was looking forward the up coming month. I don't hate it but I wouldn't buy it either. I ended up selling the rest of my stock. I was surprised how well it was received my my customers. I do love the chilli vanilli. It is more up my alley. Burning it now.smileys/smiley2.gif

I guess it is just me, but I dont think SOCP is one of our stronger scents and i have had 2 of my recruits be like..."this is it?"

We really talk about how strong our candles are, then when they received them, they were really dissappointed. They stuck with it and of course love our other scents now and are doing great, but there may always be that 1 or 2 that get turned off.

I like the socp, but i will never burn the jar. I know others RAVE about it.

It is all in the nose huh? smileys/smiley36.gif

SO&CP is one of my favorites, along with Apricot Freesia and Cucumber Melon - I don't like burning candles that smell like baked goods.

I received a sample of the SO&CP from Cinnamon and I think it could use more pepper in it. It's too sweet, but it's an interesting combination.

I think the responses here are an example of the difficulty in selecting a
scent that will appeal to *everyone*.

Sense of scent and fragrance preference are truly unique among
everyone- and in some cases, people can smell the exact same thing but
perceive entirely different aromas! (For example, when I smell our Holly
Berry, it has a strong cherry scent for me. But my DH claims there is an
overwhelming pine fragrance to it for him!)

The SO&CP seems to appeal to the greatest number of the population,
and it is also a fragrance that can *only* be acquired from us. With these
two things going for you, I think it is a great choice as a first fragrance for
people just starting out and testing their market. Imagine if your
potential customers fall in LOVE with the scent, and realize they are
unable to find anything like it anywhere else... What will happen? Yup-
you've got a customer for life!

Even if SO&CP doesn't appeal to someone, with over 90 scents to choose
from and a new fragrance every month, there's bound to be something
for every palate. This is another good reason to start with the sample
pack, fast start pack, or add a couple cases of votives to your first order.

I try to keep 2-3 scent sample containers of each category on hand at all
times. I usuall carry with me:

-SO&CP, Fresh Apple, Apricot Freesia, Sex on the Beach (can't pick just 3!)
-Clean Cotton, Ginger Bergemot, Heart of the Ocean
-French Vanilla, Hot Apple Pie, Cinnamon Raisin Bun
-French Lavender, Green Tea, Honeysuckle
-Patchouli Spice, Mountain Pine, Texas Cedarwood

You can purchase filled sample containers by calling the toll free order
line- they are 3 for $5.00. I always encourage team members who do not
have the funds to invest in the sample bag right away to buy 4 sets of
filled containers so they have 12 of the top scents for $20, and put them
in a clear plastic bead organizer case. It's portable, inexpensive (less than
$6 at a craft store) and works great!

Plus it's fun to take them out and sniff them -or let your kids sniff them
and play "guess the scent" when you're in a busy waiting room or at a
table in a restaurant waiting on your food.. Talk about drawing
attention!!! Passive marketing at it's best!

Mmmmm. Betcha can't sniff just one!smileys/smiley2.gif

I think Sweet Orange and Chili Pepper is like an

ORANGE GROVE in your home!!!!smileys/smiley17.gif

It's Scent-Sationally WONDERFUL!!!

Keep 'em coming Mia Bella!

I think that the Chili Vanilli is even more amazing with the creamsicle type scent that attracts all candle lovers!smileys/smiley20.gif

kitt- the sample packs that you are referring to--3 for 5.00 is that ordering thru the company? thanks

Hi LEah!

Yes- they are only available by calling the toll free order number- because
you need to specify which scents you want. You can also order the empty
containers too- then melt part of a votive each time you get a new COTM
shipment, and you will always have the new scents in a sample container
too!smileys/smiley20.gif

I am sure all of us from time to time will get a scent we aren't too fond of, but those are the scents we can give away as gifts and samples. Or use it for a donation for a fundraiser/silent auction at a school. I think if we all asked for different scents, the home office would be bombarded. Even though she may not like it, her friends, or customers might. It would make a good Mothers day, end of the year Teacher'sgift basket too!

One of my partners signed up with her friend and they occassionally trade scents. They are both opposite on their preferences so it works out greatsmileys/smiley1.gif

This was posted a couple months ago, but is subject to change: JUNE COTM=Tahitian Spiced Vanillla: Sweet Vanilla with all sorts of exotic spices! I can't wait for this one!

I started in February 2005 and my first COTM scent was Ginger Bergamot! BLAHK! It's a wonder I stayed.
