I'd like to get away from the Right Left game, as I want to take the focus off the mineral oil usage in other products, but I'd still like to play games at the party. Does anyone have any other games or ways to get free produts (small ones) into people's hands at the party that doesn't seem corny or gimmicky?
Thanks in advance!
Heidi

Hi Heidi!
Thanks for the hint Cindi smileys/smiley1.gifLove your new photo!
Well, I am just starting out, so no pro here, but I HAVE been researching parties and various games for awhile and what is really working for people.
Here is what I am planning to do for tomorrow night's party, it will be my first time trying this. This has really worked for one of the ladies over on the party board (Lisa)and she shared it with us. She is a booking pro!
choose a small item, I am using Detox tea bags. She uses tealights, but any small item. Write a number on each one, 1-12. Make up 12 corosponding envelopes numbered 1-12. Inside 6 envelopes, put a card or slip saying "Congratulations, you've just booked aparty!", for the other 6, they can all say "Congratulations, you've just won a gift! (or name the gift $2-$5). You can also break up these 6 to: 4 gift, 1 large gift ($10), and 1 free shipping. 50% party, 50% other. At the party, take out how ever many you need so each guest can play if she chooses.
To play, say "Ok, I have a quick game for you all. All you have to do is ask me a question about my business, and you will get a tealight (teabag...)". After handing out the items to those that ask.....
"Now, there's a catch to this game, is anyone here a gambler?" Make this very fun, be excited to play. Bring out the envelopes. "You can keep your tealight, and thanks for playing OR you can trade it in for what's in the envelopes. If you look on your tealight, you'll see you have a number...I have an envelope with the same number." Tell them about the 50/50 odds of having gift/party and what gifts are. Start by calling #1, and procede to ask each guest if they'd like to play or pass.
Tell everyone to wait to open the envelopes until everyone has one, then they can open them one at a time. Lisa suggests opening the leftover envelopes and reading those out first. (you can add the gifts to their orders)
If they have decided to take an envelope but do not win a party, you can have your booking calendar out while they are ordering and say "why don't you take a look at my calendar and see about a date that works for you?"
(While asking question portion...mentionthat they can ask more than one, but they will only get one tealight. Those that are asking more questions will give you a clue as to who could be your next BB!)
I like this because I feel that with everything so much about the product, I wanted a way to get a little about the business into my presentation. I will let you know how it goes for me!
One more thing that I will do is to offer a raffle for a larger item ifI have 3 or more people book. If they book a "hot" datethat I have on my calendar, they will get 2 entries into the raffle.I will let them know about the raffle ahead of time so they can convince each other to book. I will hold the raffle at the end and let the winner know that they will get their prize at their event.
My biggest goal at the moment is booking....I want next month full!!! So, with the 2 parties I do have, I need to make the best of them!
Hope this helps,
Carrie

UNcommonscents posted this in the party plans folder and thought it was an AWESOME idea!
I was at a home party the other night, and experienced a BRILLIANT way to increase sales (by $100!) that I had never heard of before.-They sold "squares" raffle style. Whoever won the raffle got to use the money from the sales of the squares toward product purchases at the party that night. Now here's the deal with these squares:
Each square was a $2 purchase, and the goal was to sell 50 squares (or more) by the end of her party. (So with 50 squares, there is a $100 prize for the winner, or 2 winners with $50 prize each). The hostess gathered outside square purchases before the party, and then before the show started, the ladies went *crazy* buying these things- it was like nothing I'd seen before! We were 25 shy of the 100 goal and I thought- "There's no way they're going to make 100, there are only 7 people here!" I was WRONG.
The hostess kept chatting it up, saying "Ok, my MOM bought squares
everyone, and gambling is against her religion! Ha! ha!" or "Ok, Who's
next? You're not going to let so-and-so walk away with $100 in free
product without at least TRYING, are you?" and "Beth! How many can I put you down for?"
Within about 5 minutes we had 58 squares sold- $116 in the "kitty". -
The closer it got to being a $100 prize, the more people were willing to purchase squares- no one could resist the chance to win $100 in free
products!
Imagine- that consultant secured $116 in orders before people even
started ordering anything! Amazing.

I loved that to Cindi, I would LOVE to do this!! I was just asking my husband if he knew what was legal in our state as others on that board mentioned that each state is different in what they will allow as far as raffles, and I don't want to get into any trouble! I am going to be looking into this and may use it for my next party!
