View Full Version : GREAT Sales Booster for Home Parties!

I was at a home party the other night, and experienced a BRILLIANT way
to increase sales (by $100!) that I had never heard of before.-They sold
"squares" raffle style. Whoever won the raffle got to use the money from
the sales of the squares toward product purchases at the party that night.
Now here's the deal with these squares:
Each square was a $2 purchase, and the goal was to sell 50 squares (or
more) by the end of her party. (So with 50 squares, there is a $100 prize
for the winner, or 2 winners with $50 prize each). The hostess gathered
outside square purchases before the party, and then before the show
started, the ladies went *crazy* buying these things- it was like nothing
I'd seen before! We were 25 shy of the 100 goal and I thought- "There's
no way they're going to make 100, there are only 7 people here!" I was
WRONG.
The hostess kept chatting it up, saying "Ok, my MOM bought squares
everyone, and gambling is against her religion! Ha! ha!" or "Ok, Who's
next? You're not going to let so-and-so walk away with $100 in free
product without at least TRYING, are you?" and "Beth! How many can I
put you down for?"
Within about 5 minutes we had 58 squares sold- $116 in the "kitty". -
The closer it got to being a $100 prize, the more people were willing to
purchase squares- no one could resist the chance to win $100 in free
products!
Imagine- that consultant secured $116 in orders before people even
started ordering anything! Amazing.
Now I can't wait to have someone book a part with me so I can try this
myself- it truly was unbelievable.
If anyone else tries this out, please be sure to let me know how it works
for you. smileys/smiley17.gif
