I have a party to do Friday night, and even though I ordered my things right away Monday, they aren't scheduled to deliver until this coming Monday. How should I handle the fact that I don't have the new products to show, don't have the new catalogs to hand out, and can't really use the old catalogs because so much has changed? I also don't know much about the new products to even share about them. Anyone else faced with this dilema?

Thanks!
Heidi

I have noticed that the things I concentrate on at parties, is what usually sells.

I would demonstrate using the RE9 and the sea salt scrub. Let everyone know who is not yet ready for anti-aging, or on a tight budget, that arbonne just released a new line that you are sure they will love. We always have the 45 day return.

As far as catalogs, well, someone talked about cutting out the pages with the old stuff on it. I would just be honest, let them know that we just went through the biggest upgrade in arbonne history. Share what you know; let them sample what you have; and get them excited about what just came out.

I had a one on one yesterday and just printed stuff from the web site and it went just fine. She sensed my excitement about what was coming and was excited as well. I also printed the new presentation and although I didn't use it, I did have it on the table and I saw her flipping through it when I returned from the restroom so you may want to put that out as well. I have found that people with prior direct sales experience have been so impressed with the materials we have from our corporate (and computer training). 2 of my wb that are thinking of becoming BB are from other companies previously and both have said the corporate support that allows it to be easier to be successful is whatattracted themfurther than just customers. So use this to your advantage, say something like, even though the products & catalgos are on their way, I already have this literature to share with you which is so great!.... something like that. Also share how excited you are that this is your first gathering since the release...

Thanks! That sounds great!!

I will print out some of the new materials, and I just got done printing out the new presentation. I love the looks of it.

Thanks for all the help! This is one of my first parties I'm doing on my own (without the help of my sponsor) so it's going to make me extra nervous LOL

Hi Heidi,

I'm doing a party Saturday night, very similar to yours! It's my second party and I'm doing it on my own. I am going to give everyone an old catalog, and do the foot soak and facials as usual. I am going to incorporate a little bit about the new products and print out a sheet for each person with the new items on it and stick it into each catalog. Then, I am going to let guests know that I am SO excited about all the new products that I'd like to pass on a discount to them of 10% off any of the new items.

The only thing I'm a little concerned with is if anyone wants to buy the new foundation....I'll have no clue how to help them choose a shade!

Hey, can you post how it goes after the party and I'll do the same?

Have fun!!!

I thought the shades matched the 15 shades of the liquid foundation.

That would make sense. I'll probably invest in the foundation sample sets next time I place an order. Thanks!

I had a similar issue today for the trade show I was doing, I only had old catalogs. I actually tore out the few pages that had basic/biohydria/biomatte, as those are the biggies in the front that we no longer have. They ripped out pretty easily.

I also printed info sheets from the "what's new" section on the website, I sized it to fit on one page front and back, if you are interested PM me with your email and I can send it to you as a word attachment. If you have a color printer, you can print them off and hand them out. It did not have prices on it, though, I wish I would have added prices, so you may want to do that if you use it.

Good luck. people will pick up on your enthusiasm and be excited!

Thanks for all the great tips! Carrie, I'll be anxious to hear how yours goes, and I'll be sure and post about mine. I've been told seven guests will be there. They don't want to soak their feet, or do a foot spa and probably won't want to try the sea salt scrub.

My sponsor is such a blessing! She is letting me use her new produts to show (the Intelligence line AND the Hyrbids) AND she gave me one catalog. SO, I'll tear out the pages on the old catalogs, and insert the new product sheet I've printed. And then I'll tell them that I have the ONE new catalog for them to pass as well.

Since they don't want to do the foot spa, I think I'll use the new Arb*nne=Results presentation and let them try the Intelligence on the back of their hand. What do you all think of that idea?

That sounds great, good idea! Oh, that would make me nervous since it seems people "get into it" once they soak and try the products. Yes, that's a great idea to try the Intell on the hand! Also, do you happen to have the foundation samplers or a new Mineral Foundation? It seems EVERYONE I speak to wants to try that!!!

Once my samplers come in, I plan to take Q-tips and foundation to parties to let guests choose their ideal color and soon will buy a couple of the powders, they could try that on their hands. Those are just popular now.

Also, do you have an aromatherapy spray? When I worked for Bath & Body Works, ifI could not get someone to try a product on their hands, or if they wanted to compare several,I would spray it on a small card and give it to them, telling them a little about the product. With ours, how much nicer to be able to say that they contain REAL essential oils of _______ (whatever is in the one you spray).

Good luck, can't wait to hear your results and ALL the bookings your going to get smileys/smiley1.gif

I just wanted to post an update and say thanks again for all the great tips. I spent a lot of time Friday afternoon going thru my old catalogs tearing out pages, Xing out supplements, etc, but and printing out new order forms, new product sheets and a AI special sheet. I was really nervous for the party and forgot to mention a few things...like the wholesale discount...but it went OK! It was one of my better parties sales wise, and I sold my first whole SET of skincare! A friend of mine who knows me and knows how nervous I usually get said she was surprised at how calm I seemed LOL. So, all went well! I got my new catalogs today and can't wait to pass them around!

How did yours go, Carrie??

Great Heidi!!! smileys/smiley32.gifI'm so glad it went well!! You know, I've found that I'm more nervous getting ready, thinking about going, waiting for people to arrive, but once I start talking, it just sort of moves along nicely smileys/smiley1.gif....I might trip up my words here or there, or read to much from my note cards in some places but you know what? No one seems to care and they are just really happy when they get those hot tubs of water for their feet smileys/smiley1.gif

My party went pretty well. It was more of a relationship building party...everyone gave me their emails for my newsletter (my first party I got NO emails). The hostess asked me to keep the party open for 1 week as some people couldn't make it who wanted to order, but I think it will end up being a $250 party (my first was $500). But, the ladies were all very nice, loved everything, and I really made some good connections. They seemed more likely to be regular customers who will come back to me and one lady was seriously considering the account, so maybe eventually. She placed my biggest order.

My hostess suggested that since some of the ladies did not know each other, she wanted to do an ice breaker. I was not planning to, but suggested one from my retail employee meeting experience, she loved it and it worked great! I think I'll do it again! Once everyone was seated, I welcomed them and asked them to turn to the person next to them and exchange a little info such as their name, their children's ages, what they did for work/hobbies, etc. It was lots of fun! Only like 5 minutes total. Then, their partner had to introduce them to the group...it was pretty funny. So, once everyone was introduced, I introduced myself shortly and we began.

As far as the envelope game, I was nervous about it since I am not a game person and I thought no one would be into it...but they were! It was exciting and some were just agonizing and laughing about whether to trade in their tea bag for an envelope! I gave two envelopes and both ended up to be "gift". Because I knew they had been prepared to have a party, I was able to talk with them and find out there situations and know both were the most serious about becoming more involved at a later time. So, I think it was a success in the info I was able to gather from it! One lady lived hours away and had a party before with a different company and nobody showed up. But, she works for a Curves, so maybe an "in" with the Fig 8 or something.

Anyway, I guess that's enough rambling!

Just a note about Curves - they have their own weight loss drink, so I
wasn't able to promote the Figure 8 with them. I was able to leave
catalogs and other samples there and I have drawings from time to time
to win products.

Sounds like you guys had a great party! Way to go! :)
