Job Description:
Provides day-to-day technical support for internal desktop systems software and hardware and may provide assistance to groups within and outside of IT, such as server, network and telecom. Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop systems and workstations and may assist with other issues in a heterogeneous environment. Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment. Communicates highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
Serves as a point of contact in a client-focused environment and may work in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. Adheres to the department standards, policies and procedures and provides / prepares necessary documentation. May participate in the development of information technology and other related processes and projects. May conduct training designed to educate users about basic and specialized hardware and software products. Depending on the role, incumbents may be expected to telecommute and/or be assigned to remote areas.
Requirements:
* Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
* Hands-on in resolving issues related to desktops/laptops, printers, wireless, network, telecom, etc.
* Uses appropriate problem solving techniques that allow prompt problem identification, analysis, and resolution.
* Self-motivated, works with minimal supervision and exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
* Department-related certification(s) desired * Dell or standard hardware vendor certification and/or other standard software certifications.
* ITIL knowledge / certified is a plus
