Hi, everyone. I found this listing on Craigslist today. Do think this company is legitimate? They are hiring homebased workers to do data entry online/offline and no fees are required at all. Here is the website URL link for you to check out below:

Data Entry Work | Data Entry Jobs | Data Entry From Home | Data Entry Home Work (http://www.dataentrywork.net/index.php?id=477795) or copy and paste this on to your browser. Pay is bi-weekly and via paypal.

I would appreciate everyone's feedback. Therefore, please kindly let me know your feedback and advising me as to whether you think this is legitimate or not.

Thank You!

Here's what I think.

I recently installed the WOT add-on in Fire Fox which let's me know if a site is safe based on user ratings. When I clicked the link I got a pop-up that the site has a poor reputation. The explanation and comments are here: dataentrywork.net | WOT Reputation Scorecard | WOT (Web of Trust) (http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/dataentrywork.net)

Just in case the link doesn't work for you, there are a few comments of "forum spammer" and this one that I found the most informative:

"The site pretends to provide you with an opportunity to earn money by data capturing etc. However, for that privilege, you have to pay $25! You can earn $25, by referring "friends" at a rate of $0.12/friend.In other words more pyramid scheme than work. OK, so let's hear from somebody who paid the $25, whether it's worth it? "

Personally, the referral bonuses and the testimonials bother me. I don't see how a legitimate job can offer referral bonuses for up to a year, especially with the current state of the economy. That just makes me wonder what they're charging clients and if there'd be enough work to even bother.

All that said, maybe someone else has actually worked for them and has more information. It'd be nice if it was legit because the payouts they're highlighting are sweet, but I don't trust it.

My advice is to steer clear of that one & try places like http://www.odesk.com instead. I know there's no fee there, and there are free ways to increase your earning potential by taking tests.

Good luck! :)

my question is the company has to send you the information to enter right? So somebody had to enter the information first... why pay someone to enter is again?

Make sense?

Well, not if it is mailed through the postal service, or needs to be entered multiple times.

prosperityalliance, Another scenario of why if it's already entered would it need to be entered again besides the ones AndrewW pointed out might be that different facts may need to be entered into different fields of different forms.

dataworkermm>> To answer your question I would say it is not legit, at least not in the respect that you expect it to be a data entry job and it doesn't appear to be one. It appears to be anything from a bait and switch 'opportunity' ad to maybe an outright scam.

Yes one sugession to every one that is please only go for the work/projects whose minimum payout levels are as low as 1$ i think that may be the best option bcz you can get out of it just in a small span of period if not your hardwork may be lost please try with this Part time job - data entry operator - Work From Home (http://www.dataentryoperator.co.in) where their minimum payout levels are lower than 1$ so i think you get paid regularly

$1 an hour? Seriously? Though they may be few and far between, there are data entry opportunities that actually pay an acceptable wage. If people would stop working for nothing then maybe these companies would pay folks what they are worth.

She was not suggesting anyone work for $1/hour, what she said was $1 minimum payout. Some companies require you to have a certain amount in your account before you are paid, say $25 for instance. In that case you would have to work what ever amount of time it took to earn the $25 when you do not know that you will be paid. What she is suggesting is when it is a company that you don't know about the legitimacy to only work for ones whose minimum payout is $1 so that you know without all the risk. I hope that made sense. ;)
