My neighbor is having a garage sale and asked if I wanted to include any of my stuff with hers. I was wondering about selling Arbonne in some form. What do you think and how would you approach selling products?

I think it is actually against company policy. I would have to go back to my manual, but I thought it said something about garage sales, flea markets, etc. I think it cheapens the quality of the product in peoples eyes to see it in garage sales or flea markets.

yeah, it is against @rbonne's policy.

What about having an "Open House" and having directional signs announcing it?Or is that the same?

I actually did think it would be kind of sleazy to do. I would never be non compliant-they were all about that at NTC! Kathy Lutz kept having us applause everytime she mentioned the word compliance! We heard there were issues regarding compliancy with some people in Ar*****.

you can NOT post signs saying A*... it's against compliance. A* is a trademark and so everything saying "it" has to be approved by compliance and they will not approve signs giving directions to an event. if you can come up with something not specific to A* then go for it. ..... "health and wellness open house"? "direct sales event"?

So, how come trade shows/craftsshowscan place signs and ads that include A*? Or can they?

The ad placed should have gone through compliance to be approved first.

usually those advertisements aren't directly from a consultant they are from the event organizer, so that may make a difference, not sure really, just a guess so don't hold me to itsmileys/smiley17.gif

I am doing a trade show tomorrow and I am being listed as "Jane Smith, Arb0nne International Independant Consultant" on all their listings. I have the Arb0nne posters I bought from business aids a while ago and I use those in my booth, so I hope that is okay! I have a short info sheet that I pass out as well, my upline emailed it to me and it does use the name Arb0nne. I don't understand how we can't use the name Arb0nne in our attempts to sell Arb0nne. It is like we are not even supposed to write the name. If Iwere to havesomeone on my teamstanding at the end of the row at the trade show with a catalog and samples TELLING people the Arbonne booth is down this row, that would be okay. I don't see how it is so different and horrible to have something written down pointing people towards my booth???

Is it just they don't want a paper trail? Something that is written that might get in the wrong hands and give Arb0nne a bad name?? But just the word Arbonne written on a sign with an arrow doesn't seem like a problem...

Anet, I feel your pain, its very frustrating. They want us to sell, but limit the ways to do it in a ridiculous way in my opinion. And of course many don't follow the rules (because they don't know them & don't make the effort too), so they get the business and those that do follow are trying to be creative. I see at least 1 thing a week where I livethat I am sure is non-compliant...

Yes, it's frustrating. But those limits are necessary to protect all of us. The majority of us do not know the laws regarding NWM businesses. It's home office's job to know them & make sure to have policies in place that protect us from breaking htem.

Also remember that we live in a very litigious society & have to be very careful when making statements. They must limit us to a ridiculous extent to make sure IC's don't make some wild claims while "represetning" Ar****. That could be a problem for all of us, much bigger than having to get compliance to ok a flier.

Home office is not doing this to make our jobs harder. They try to make it as easy as possible for us to grow our business. They do it because they have to do it. And yes there are going to be people who go against compliance for whateverreason Home office can't police everyone.. However, if something were to come about with those non-compliant people then we are all protected b/c those policies are in place & the IC in question is to blame, not the company.
