Are you trying to make 2 websites and forward the domains to them?

I don't know really what to do - I was thinking of placing everything on one website and then have different links to the different urls.

But I don't how does that work?

Hi,

You can creat a website with each page being about a different subject. And yes, you can have a distinct URL going to a specific page by forwarding it.

A domain name is what people type in to get to your site. Hosting is the space you "rent" on the interenet that allows your site to be online and seen.

I provide web design & hosting. Feel free to contact me. I'd be glad to help you.

Let me see if I can break it down for you in laymans terms. smileys/smiley2.gif

You have one main website

http://www.mymainwebsite.com

Within this website you have individiual sections,

<A href="http://www.mymainwebsite.com/section1.htm" target="_blank">http://www.mymainwebsite.com/section1.htm
</A>http://www.mymainwebsite.com/section2.htm (http://www.mymainwebsite.com/section2.htm)
http://www.mymainwebsite.com/section3.htm (http://www.mymainwebsite.com/section3.htm)

You want a separate url to go to each of those sections? Here's what you do.

You purchase web space to host http://www.mymainwebsite.com

Then you would need topurchase 3 domain names to forward to each of your sections. So you would own (for example)

http://www.mysection1.com (http://www.mysection1.com) (which points to your first section)
http://www.mysection2.com (http://www.mysection2.com) (which points to your second section)
http://www.mysection3.com (http://www.mysection3.com) (which points to yourthird section)

The forwarding would be transparent to the visitor.

Lastly, yes, I can offer this all to you very inexpensively. Let me know if I can be of further assistance!

Thanks
Michele

or you could do the same thing using subdomains, and then you wouldn't have to purchase different domains.

Subdomains would be the way to go, I think. That's what I would to do. It would cost you less.

how would I do a subdomain?

Does it happen automatically when I purshace a domain.

Most hosting plans will come with a certain number of subdomains. Those would be included in the price you pay for hosting.
