Has anyone ever tried to sell at farmers markets and small flea markets? I was thinking about doing "shows" but doing small things that cost less then $100 and don't take much more than a card table and a tarp. I was wondering how anyone does at these sort of things. Thanks!smileys/smiley1.gif

I've done a flea market locally here - and they do vary from place to place. Mine has a table rental fee of some $30+ for the weekend. In my market I was able to sell a couple jars, but mostly votives. The key from what others that have done flea markets with these is consistancy. If they see you there week after week and become a regular, you will see various types of traffic - when you think about it, one doesn't visit flea markets every weekend (although there are some that do lol) - so in order to expose your products to as many people as possible you have to be there for some time.

It can help if you also sell some accessories like various votive holders of the appropriate size and things (as long as it's not from another direct sales or mlm business) to give you a broader market as well. Even create some smaller baskets - the "quick gift" - and just some odds and ends that are candles, warmers, etc related.

I've not been back in the last couple of weeks, I had to focus on selling off some of the extra jars I had in stock - and will have to focus more on getting in some votives before I go back.

I have heard that the Mia Melts are selling very well at the flea markets especially if there is some melting in a warmer! I think the price is definately right for the flea market route. smileys/smiley1.gif

Good luck!smileys/smiley32.gif
