I know how the frustration can feel. I looked for work at home jobs for a while with no luck until I found this site. If you explore this site you will find something that you will want to do. If you like to write you could try textbroker and london brokers. I am new to the work at home business and they excepted me and I dont have any complaints as of yet.

I agree with funmom91. There are lots of positions posted in this section of the forum. And new ones are added every day.

What past expereince do you have? If you have any experience working with people, Customer Service seems to be a really big work at home area.

I wish you the best of luck and hope you find something really soon. :)

I am so sorry that you are going through this situation. Don't give up, there is something out there for you. Every day there are new job postings on this forum in the "telecommute leads" folder. Today I saw a posting for Merchant circle writers. I write for them sometimes and they are a nice company to work with. Not to mention the weekly pay by paypal.

If you don't want to write articles, try applying for customer service jobs from places such as Alpine Access, which is currently hiring. You will need to do a lot of research to stay on top of things. Working from home requires lots of research, as well as adding new jobs when they are available. You should never have only one work at home job.

Perhaps your resume needs some fine-tuning and/or updating. What are your skills, and what do you want to do?

In one of the closed discussions, there is a list of jobs you can apply with. I work for Alpine Access, and it is on the list.

I did have to pay for a background/credit check..45.00.

But I got hired, and they are hiring.

Good luck

There are plenty of job listings on this site and others. How long have you been checking this site for?

Try job search sites. When I started working from home, I started out with oDesk then moved on to finding my own clients. It will be hard at first, but once you get a hang of it, you'll have offers in no time. Just be patient!

I was going to ask the same questions:
how long have you been using the resources on this site?

have you fully investigated the newbie stickies within this site?

and after that much time, I would definitely suggest rewriting your resume if you haven't gotten any bites. ;)

Honestly, if you've got a computer and an Internet connection, and you're reasonably intelligent, you will find a work-at-home job. When I started my work-at-home sites in 2007, it was quite difficult to find telecommute job listings. But today, they're everywhere, as more and more employers realize the benefits of allowing their employees to work from home.

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. As many have already said, you may just need to tweak your resume. Besides this site, another good place to look for telecommute work is Rat Race Rebellion. I also publish job opps daily on my two sites.

I found my transcription job here five years ago, and I've been working with the same company ever since. You can do it. Don't get discouraged. Just apply, apply, apply. You'll find something!

Thank you very much. That is nice to hear. It has been hard work, but I believe in giving back and I hope it helps a lot of people.

I agree with the others. There are many sites out there and you just have to know which ones to take a look at. The more you apply, the better your chances; the better your resume, the higher your chances in getting hired.. Don't give up!!!! Your hard work will pay off :)

This is the same response I gave someone else who was looking for work. Hope you don't mind me sharing it with you also.

I hope you find something soon. Try Working Solutions and Sedgwick. Heard both companies are hiring. Google them or check out the folders on this board and the Workplace Like Home Board.

Also try American Support, Lionbridge, Leapforce, Convergys, Sutherland, Support.com

You have to make looking for a job your main job right now and keep applying...applying and applying. Set aside an entire afternoon or day and just fill out applications at each company listed (at least the ones you are interested in). It is not easy, but you will appreciate it when you land that wah job. It is going to take work and time, but the reward of a wah job with be worth it. APPLY....APPLY....APPLY.

Also, go to Ratracerebellion and start from the top and work your way down applying for jobs.

Best of luck to you.

I have no affiliation with this group, but I have gotten work through them in the past. Check out odesk. It is a way to get your feet wet doing freelance projects of diferent types online. It can be a great place to start until you decide what you want to do.

Dominique,

I want to encourage you and let you know that you don't have to start a business to work from home. You can find work that pays you a steady paycheck and even provide benefits.

First, decide what's important, the type of work or the lifestyle? For me, it's the lifestyle. I refuse to work outside the home because I have an autistic son, and working at home allows me to give him the time and attention he needs to succeed. Also, as depressing as it may seem right now going through the job search process the alternative may be worse. I was more depressed working an outside job away from my family.

If your son is all that matters, then girlfriend, you'd mow a lawn from home if you could right? Therefore, get what you can for now at a pay that's sufficient to provide for your son. Apply for all kinds of positions that you have a shot at based on your resume and don't give up.

PM me if you're stuck on the application and interview process. One tip: apply right away. It's not enough to apply, but to try to be among the first to apply. So, you may need to set up some web based tools or habits to help you know when a job is posted, so that you're one of the first to apply.
