I'm in the process of selling my house and want to pick the "right" scent for our Open Houses. smileys/smiley1.gif
For now it's French Vanilla or Hot Apple Pie. What would you use?
Hugs & Blessings,
Sarah

Hi Sarah,
You have picked some good scents. I would also suggest fresh apple.
Many Blessings,
Natalie

Mmmm.. I love this discussion!
How about Cinnamon Raisin Bun? It draws people from all over the mall to
Cinnabun- if it works for them... Why not you?
Have fun and who knows- maybe you'll sell more than just your house! smileys/smiley17.gif

Those are all great scents! I think Apple Berry Cobbler would be a great one too! (One of my favorites!). Another good one would be Butter Cream (Oh, I love that one too!smileys/smiley36.gif)
Actually, it's sooo hard to narrow it down to just one!smileys/smiley36.gif
Good luck on selling your house!

Hi Sarah! Good luck to you in the sale of your house. We just sold our house a few weeks ago. I used the French Vanilla in my warmer for the showings. Had it going about an hour before each appointment came through. We had a total of 11 showings with 9 offers on our house. Two went above the sale price! smileys/smiley32.gif
I told my husband it was the Mia Bella candles that sold our house.. LOL!! It smelled so wonderful and homey when the potential buyers walked in. I truly believe our candles made a difference.
Good luck and many blessings,
Alison Boers

My mom was a realtor for years. She always asked sellers to place a pan of vanilla in the oven on low heat for open houses.
I suggest using something that reminds potential purchasers of home baking:
cinnamon raisin bun
banana nut bread
butter cream
carrot cake
gingerbread
hot apple pie
vanilla cookie ... etc
The real estate market is crazy in Calgary right now. Realtors are telling buyers to have their check book ready when viewing a home. Customers are lining up to put in offers. I've heard ofone home selling for $65,000 OVER list price and one for $90,000 OVER list price!
The home we just sold 1 March sold again after a few upgrades were done for $90,000 than we sold it for. Now I wish we had held on to it a bit longer! smileys/smiley5.gif

I loved reading all your comments. smileys/smiley1.gif
I did have my french vanilla votive in the simmer pot. I removedthe wick & Nearly an entire votive fit with room to spare.Allison, thanks for confirming the vanilla route. Hey, if my home sells for above asking price with the Mia Bella's melting, wooie, we'll have anothertestimony to share!!
The housing market here is flooded with homes. Seems like 2 houses on every block.Today, we had 3 groups through for our open house, all postitive comments.
Vickie, sounds like you have a GREAT sellers market by you! WOW! That is exciting.
Lori, we're moving over to the Michigan lakeshore, just acouple hundred miles north of you. smileys/smiley2.gif

My favorites are Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper and Apricot Freesia - I'm not a big fan of the baked goods scents!
