Hey girls!

I love jewelry and would like to add yet another "biz" to my life--one
that I'm passionate about. I am torn between making my own
jewelry (because I have a creative streak that will not go away) or Lia
Sophia or Latasia party plans (because they handle problems/breakages
etc and because I can sell and have great jewelry without labor).

Any thoughts?

As far as Lia Sophia and Latasia--they look similar to me--anyone care to tell me their opinion as to which is better?

PS I was doing Spice It Up last year and really enjoyed my "grown up"
parties, but decided that it wasn't for me when few parties went
directions that I wasn't comfortable with. I also do Noah's Ark
which is a wonderful company, but I do love adult conversation (home
with kids all day plus babysitting others!)

Hey Angie,

I am with lia sophia and would love to talk to you about the company. I love the company, the pay, the incentives, the guarantee, their return policy, and the fact that I get to do something grown up! I am a stay at home mom to 3 kids, and frequently babysit neighbor kids, plus my kids have friends over all the time. I will PM you more information about the comapny.

I you like making your own jewelry, have you looked into Luxe Jewels
(http://www.luxejewels.com/). I am not at all affiliated with
them, but it was one of the companies I found extremely
interesting. Basically, you host jewelry making parties where
people buy kits that has everything they need. You can also buy
the kits yourself (I don't know if they still stuff outside of kits),
make the jewelry and sell that at craft fairs or whatever. It
seems like a nice way to combine your interests.

I don't know too much more than that - I ruled it out for now because
it really requires parties and I'm not sure yet if I want that to be
the main part of my business (as opposed to fundraisers, corporate,
web, etc.)

Hey Angie!!!! How are ya?

ALOT of our former Petra team is now with Latasia Jewelry. I can tell you a few basic things about us and try not to overwhelm you, lol. Basically, we make 40% commission off the top when we start and when we sell our first $1500 we make 50% from then on, off the top!

We get paid 5 levels deep on our downlines and it's a pretty straightforward structure. What you see in our override info is what you get. No outrageous monthly requirements for keeping your team. Latasia works with Directors and above on an individual basis because they understand that life happens and things come up. So, if minimums aren't met for a quarter, they give you another quarter to get 'em back up. At that time they will contact you and find out what's going on. If there are no excuses and you get bumped back to Designer, you do NOT lose your team and you still make the Recruiting Designer override on them. If the numbers get there within 6 months of getting bumped back down, you'll go back out with the same team you had plus any new ones.

Our quality is great. I've not had any problems so far with people returning things and also our delivery time is between 1 and 2 weeks. I'm averaging a week and a half for delivery to my hostesses.

If you are not talking with anyone yet concerning Latasia, I'd be glad to talk with you anytime. Latasia is an amazing company, has an amazing compensation plan in place for ladies that choose to take advantage of it, backs their products with a solid guarantee and treats us like family. 60% of the time when I call the company with a question, the Vice President of the company herself answers the phone. That's nice to know.

I've been blessed and feel so much happier than I have since I lost Petra. You can view my site through my link below and email me through there or drop me a line at kkandrod@hughes.net If you are already speaking with someone from here about Latasia, I wish you all the best and you can still let me know if you ever have questions or need advice. I love helping fellow Designers and my team members. I want to see us all do well because I know how possible it is with Latasia. Hope to hear from you soon!! I know God will bless you with the right company and you'll have a blast!!!

Also.. look into The Glass Bracelet... people design their own jewelry but its professionally strung and sent to the guests. You can help them design etc.. and its fun! ellen s here can give you more info

Bead retreat is a co that you I think help people make it themselves as well.

good luck

edited to add: i know you asked specifically about 2 co's.. but you mentioned making your own so I wanted to toss it in there.. I am with another co as a shoper that I like, but I like lia sophia a lot, and just don't have any experience with Latasia, but I trust Krystal, and what I've seen online looks great!

awww thanks Deb!!!! Alot of people don't have any experience with Latasia yet. Up until the end of last year there were only around 200 Designers. Now we are up to a little over 500 and growing fast!! So, it's not a bad thing that you don't have experience with them, we are just a small, family oriented company that's on the grow. Again, thanks for the compliment Deb, that means so much!!!!

I believe their quota (Michele Baratta)to get downline commission is $500 a month. But considering the average party is $750, that's VERY doable.

They are a very young company - only 2 yrs old. But I am VERY impressed with them. I do not sell with them YET.

oh ok.. there was something they were posting about having 1250 in your first something...? something like that.. pretty jewelry though!

Ok, I have to post and help our my Sister-in-law's company Just Jewelry (http://www.itsjustjewelry.com). They have AMAZING prices and great stuff. No catalog, you just buy and resell. I get so many complements on the jewelry I have from them. My SIL isn't a rep, she's the office manager. But I like to keep her employed so check them out!

Hi Angie,

I actually was selling "Adult Products" about a year ago myself. It just wasn't for me. Love the products but I had a hard time getting bookings and sales.

I decided to join lia sophia about 2 months ago and things have just taken off. I have already earned $900 in FREE jewelry to add to my kit w/ their excellent beginnings program. $200 for meeting $1500 in sales and 3 bookings, $200 for $3000 mark, and another $200 for meeting the $4500 mark + $300 for my new recruit in my 1st 15 weeks which I met all my goals in less then 10 weeks. I make 30% commission and don't have to lug around a bunch of bins of product like I used to. Just my paperwork and jewelry kit.

The return policy is second to none. LIFETIME GUARANTEE as long as you own the piece!!!!!!!!!!

The jewelry is gorgeous! I wish I would have started w/ lia sophia a long time ago. It is only $99 to start and you get 12 pieces of jewelry and all the paperwork and video to run your new business.

My calendar is almost full. I have 6 shows scheduled for May and already have a few for June. Come over and check out the lia sophia board for answers to any of your questions you may have.

Good luck in your search Angie!smileys/smiley4.gif

I like liasophia jewelry, I have a couple of earings from them. One pair is a little heavy for my ears, I think there was a short return policy on them 30-60 days by the time i worn them that time had passed. Also only my opinion but I thought the prices were a little high for our area. At the party I went too i noticed alot of people did not order maybe because of that reason. they have good quality jewelry though. very nice.

Hi Lisa,

Do you still have your receipts? Let me clarify the lia sophia return policy. You can get a full refund within 45 days. After that you can get credit applied to any other productin the catalog. After 120 days there is a $5 handling fee but they will send you a $5 certificate for a future purchase. Like I said before LIFETIME GUARANTEE AS LONG AS YOU STILL OWN THE PIECE!

Also, as far as the pricing goes I haven't had anyone complain about the pricing afterI explain our customer save plan: Buy 2 items @ regular price and get your next item(most expensive) @ 1/2 off. Also, our monthly specials April is spend over $50 and get up to 3 bracelets @ 1/2 off May is Slides/Pins.

And our hostess special is the best. Get up to 4 items( under $100 each) for $15 each, 2 half-off items and either 20-40% FREE CREDIT. Most hostesses who have shows over $1000 and 2 bookings earn over $400 in Free Credit which is not very hard to do.

So if those earrings are too heavy for you I urge you to return them for something else you may like better. smileys/smiley4.gif

Hi Chris Thank you for that information. I personally do not mind spending money on good jewelry, but I live on a military training post so there is not an high income here or alot of professionals. That is the reason I say a little high for around here. Our date night consists of going to Walmart and looking around.smileys/smiley36.gif

I'm in the process of building my new online jewelry store. The name isCarolina Silver Mine. I was thinking of joining another direct sales company in jewelry but thought I might just give it a try doing it on my own. I'll let you know when I have the site up and running. If you are interested in buying from me directly (wholesale) to sell yourself or do your own "Home Shows" with, just let me know. I'd be more than happy to give you huge discounts for bulk purchases to start your own business too. I will be purchasing more stock in July.

Good luck in your search,

Nikki
