Hello!

I saw G's blog and got so excited. I know we are not the cause, but a few months ago this forum got super hot with the color analysis topic here. We all said we wanted it. Yes, the directors who were teaching it also probably had more to do with it than we did, but I guarantee you this topic got noticed, esp the amount of people who posted here relative to those on the board. BC has the most active or one of the most active forums on here in skincare.

With the advent of the new pencils, they have really bought the color stronger into the picture. With the new skincare samples, BC is poised to be a bigger name.

Right back at ya Lady. Been waiting and wondering since it was talked about here a few months ago. Beauticontrol is looking for an edge to getting sales. this is a selling tool, women always look for something to make them look better, the personalized service.

With the sensors, and now a personal color edge, can not get better than than. Beauticontrol needs to bring out some actual tools like color swatch and if not that, at least something on paper we can hold up.

Look at all the poisitve responses on the blog. Just like it was here.

So interesting that they are bringing this back. Their reasons for implementing it back in the 80's was to compete with Mary Kay, to offer something MK did not have. So they"borrowed" the idea from Color Me Beautful, which is the best color analysis company, IMO. The problem I saw with it when BC offered it last time is they were analyzing people in to the wrong season. I am not sure they really understood the concept of complimenting one's skin tone, eye color and hair color. They seemed to think contrast was better. Example: putting pink blush and pink lip color on a redhead. Redheads are most always warm toned and should be wearing shades of peach, coral and warm toned blushes and lip colors. Anyway, hopefully they will get it right this time. It is a great took when used properly! BC certainly has stepped up their line to coincide with this. I think this could be their next big surge of success, sort of like when they implemented the Spa Escape. Best wishes to all of you. This could be really big for your business!

I watched Gary's blog and it looks like he is doing the right thing when it comes to analysis. This is exactly what Color Me Beautiful does now. They also do the more in depth analysis, but the warm/cool is what they do at their Beauty Hours. Gary wasn't with BC when they did color analysis before. That was back when Jinger Heath was in charge.

Just make sure when you are draping your clients that they have a completely "naked" face and no jewelry at all, not even earrings if they are wearing a high necked top, try to fold it down so it is not next to their face and you only see the drape color. You will also need good, natural lighing too which can be really tricky at evening parties! Good luck, it will be fun!!

Cabimom,
where did you ever hear BC recommend pink for a Warm? I've been with BC for 15 years, I started back in the color analysis days. They have never recommended pink for a warm. I'm a natural redhead so I know all about warm colors. :) Almost all the info I learned on color analysis came from them. We used to have color drapes (you may have seen them mentioned here or as a comment on Gary's recent FB post). All the drapes were either cool or warm and they were labeled as such so there was no guessing. I was hoping they'd update the drapes, and maybe someday they will. I'm curious to see what new tool they will introduce. I think the key to doing great analysis is in the training. If they start doing it again at Beauti U it will show everyone how easy it really is. It's nothing to be afraid of. and when you are trained, you offer an incredible service that your clients will love you for. It's one of those things that brings customer loyalty.

By the way, just got the new makeup today. I love, love, love it. The shadows are amazing, the packaging is so incredible. And the lip shimmer looks & feels great, and tastes super yummy.

Skin analysis, color analysis, good makeup....I feel like they are finally bringing back all the things I loved in the past. I'm sorry we ever got away from it all.

That's awesome that you have been with BC that long! I had my colors done by a BC rep back in the 80's, and I am warm. They reccommended pinks for me as a "contrast". I thought it was weird at the time because I look horrible in pink lipstick! They must have gotten the kinks worked out by the time you started or possibly this woman didn't have the proper training.! I agree that proper training in color analysis is essential. I think it is a wonderful tool. I always loved doing color analysis! I still have my full set of drapes from CMB. It was super fun to show people their "best" colors! It really makes a difference!
