View Full Version : Help, RE9 Reaction

Okay, this is my first (hopefully last) negative experience with the
1-800 field support system. I have a potential client who, about 40
minutes ago tried the RE9. Her face is burning. She has sensitive skin
and has used BeautiControl for many years with no negative reactions.
She is willing to try the RE9 for three days to allow her skin time to
adjust but obviously I don't want her face to burn.

Field support told me to have her send it back if it was in the 45 day
guarantee period. That is not what I'm looking for!! What ingredients
or product might be causing her face to burn? The serum? That is the
only thing I can think of. What else might it be? I want to be of help,
not SEND it back!! What kind of support is that?

I would think the serum b/c of the aha and bha's. I usually tell my new clients to slowly add the serum to the routine. Hope that helps!

I would call again and talk to someone else if need be. Every once in a while you get the person just trying to get through the day and not be of any real help.

I know the company says the RE9 products are fine for sensitive skin, but they are</span> very stimulating. Many people with sensitive skin should just avoid RE9. I know that isn't the answer you wanted to hear. smileys/smiley6.gif But like Barbara said, have her skip the serum for now and see if that helps.<!--

Whenever I have to deal with figuring out what causes a reaction, I eliminate everything first and them slowly add things back one at a time to find out what causes it. I am no reaction expert but here is what I would do. First I would make sure that she actually wants to keep trying and make sure that's what she wants. If so, after she is feeling all better of course have her try the wash. Then if no reaction, the next day add one more thing, maybethe eye cream. Then the next day something else. If there is a reaction, you should be able to pinpoint it. Not every product is for everyone. I have someone that doesn't care for the lift and says it makes her feel funnybut loves the rest.

ask her if she has any known allergies... and check the product knowledge against anything she says

I agree with ChrlstnCharmed, this system is not for sensitive skin.

cut out the transforming lift too if she is using that, but more than likely it's the serum.

I happen to have a client who is allergic to oranges so since the system uses orange oil, this is not a product line she uses. I'm not suggesting your person is allergic to the orange oil but then againyou never know.

It also has wheat germ oil in it, I have someone with a wheat allergy who cannot use it.

I had one lady who immediately after putting on the Toner her face turned red and started burning. Everything else worked fine. Just follow what everyone else said. Checking things in order. Let us know how it turns out.

It could also be the witch hazel in the toner - I have rosacea, and witch hazel irritates my skin pretty badly - but I can use the wash. It might be the day creme, too - it makes my face bright red... Maybe if she just tries the wash for a couple of days, and then slowly adds the other products one by one, she'll be able to see what's causing it. The first 3 clients I sold Re9 sets to all had bad reactions to it, so I'm much more cautious about it now - it's definitely not for sensitive skin!!

I agree, I can not use the serum and have had a few people with sensitive skin have that problem. She actually will probably do better with the new line. As most my clients do better with the basics. Good Luck! :)
