Okay, I know that Hannah's approach is working well for a lot of people. My upline is doing it as well. My issue is, I'm not comfortable approaching people one-on-one. I almost wonder if I'm one of the ones who would actually do better with a group/party setting. I'm almost scared to go to my RVP/neighbor with this. Every time I've brought up A to anyone, they automatically go into either "Yeah, I've been asked before" or "That stuff's really expensive." A lot of my "warm market" is either people that I work with who can't spare the $$$, or people in the 18-25 range who think that A is all about the Baby Boomer market from what they've heard. I'm a month in, have an 8 pack, am 1st step DM with absolutely NO downline, and am very, very discouraged.I love the product, but am unsure about the business. I feel like I hear the same thing at every meeting, and am not having any "lightbulb" kind of moments. Time is also an issue, as I'm working 6-7 days a week right now. It's incredibly frustrating. At this point, I'm wondering if this is even for me, or whether I should find something else. smileys/smiley19.gif Edited by: mykidsaremywhy

Hi Melanie,

That's the great thing about Ar****!! There are SO many different ways to promote this business!!

I am a painfully shy person but do great in front of a group of people. I feel the same way about doing 1 on 1's. I would MUCH rather have a group of ladies relaxing and socializing while I share the great products and business we have to offer! smileys/smiley1.gif

I spent about a week putting together my spa presentation using many other scripts and ideas. In the end, it was something that I could personally feel comfortable with and it included verbage that was "me" (people can tell when you are not being yourself!) I enjoy the party atmosphere and with 2 small children, I don't have the time to be meeting with lots of different people during the week. I have told my husband to be prepared for me to be out of the house 2 nights a week doing parties.

Don't feel that you have to do what everyone else is doing if it is not working for you.....you will not succeed that way! You have to stay active in this business and find what will work for you.

I hope this helps, I'm sure there will be lots of other great advice from this board, everyone here is very helpful smileys/smiley1.gif

I'm the same way. It takes a lot of motivational "self-talk" to get me readyto meet one on one with someone... but a group? I'm there in a heartbeat!smileys/smiley36.gif One on One's are simple, but for some of us they definitely are not easy. Party's can be fun! You can play games and give prizes... a gal in my downline does a scavenger hunt with stickers placed in the catalogue... she'll say, "first to find the apple sticker gets a mini hand cream!" It's very unexpected too, she does it to keep their attention.. this works great for those attendees who love to chatter with the people next to them and disrupt the whole group.

i hear you! i've been listening to the 4 cd consultant basic training cds from the Place, and on one of them there is a chapter on getting bookings for parties. you could ask your family "not to keep me in business but to help me get started by hosting a no-fuss=no cleaning/cooking a get-together around your kitchen table with 5-6 people i don't know". there's also verbiage on presentations and other things, it is very helpful to me and i warmly recommend it to all. there might be learn&burns on these issues as well, i just haven't checked on those yet. good luck, there will be down times and the best thing to do is to stay busy, focus on some activity that you do so well. we are here for you!

My recommendation since you have the 8 pack is the method where you have the host hand out 4 sets including one to herself about 4-5 days before her party for them to sample. She needs to make sure it willbe people attending the party so you can re-collect them. You could even deliver them for her but wait for the party to do the closing. I know I have seen this format somewhere but can't remember if there is a name tied to it. This is somewhat of a backward No Party-Party method Where she hands out the sets and you close them out One-on-One.

I work two other party Network companies as well as A****** so I have that party experience and love doing them. I get excited by the anticipation of the group. I've held parties with over 20 guests and actually prefer the smaller groups because they are easier to keep moving. If she really feels she can get more that four there and do an even bigger party you can concentrate the 8 sets on one party or make instruction cards to put with the Sample set. Just dress the samples pack up to look nice instead of Ho-hum.

As for those 20-28 year olds. I wish someone really would have informed me back then. I'm 30 now and really feel that starting on the RE9 would have prevented the deep wrinkle I developed. It has drastically improvedwith the RE9but I think it would have never been an issue. Another huge thing you can point out to those younglings is the Thermal Fusion mask (or whatever is introduced) it works well for everone without sensitive skin with the basics. We have something for everyone. Don't be a slave to just the anti-aging. It may be our biggest seller but it may not be for everyone as you will see on this board. Even the basics with just the eye cream has worked for some of my customers. Let them know you can customize a skincare program to their needs with a 45 day guarantee. Hope this helps a little.

How about I do all of your one-on-ones and you can do all my parties smileys/smiley4.gif
