I have been looking for events going on locally and have found two silent auctions coming right up. Has anyone gotten any business from donating to these events?
I don't have any product on hand so would possibly donate a gift certificate with a catalog. I'm a little nervous as I really don't have any money to do this at the moment, so don't want to just give away money with no return. When I am doing better financially I will definately donate all the time to things like this as they are such good causes and I'd love to help.
Any feedback?

I think these activities are well worth the investment because you get your name out there to people who otherwise wouldn't hear about you.

That is a great question, I would love to hear more replys!
My husband has a big golf outing for his sports boosters so obviously it would be mostly men....the wives would come after....however, I was thinking about donating something for the silent auction as well.
I too don't have alot of money or extra product on hand. Since this was a "primarily" men function, I didn't know if it would be worth it or not.
Not to mention the fact my husband doesn't like me peddling my Arbonne on his friends!smileys/smiley5.gif
Any other suggestions on this topic?

Mother's Day is fast approaching!smileys/smiley2.gif What Mother doesn't need an Unwind set?smileys/smiley36.gif market this "gift giving service" idea to your male friends, menswear shop, golf pro shop, the local bait and tackle shopsmileys/smiley36.gifanywhere there are men who don't know what to get their spouses for Mothers Day. Have a generic flier or business card made up about a gift giving service you can offer them for the Mom's in their life (anniversary, birthday, Christmas). Something cute like, "take it from a Mom, what a Mom wants most for Mother's Day is to Unwind"smileys/smiley36.gif You can have different prices made up so they can have a choice, you can include some bathtub supplies, like a loofah, or one of those eye cover things, a bath pillow, maybe a cute little book to read while she's enjoying her "unwind" time.. for some reason I'm thinking "chicken soup for the mother's soul"smileys/smiley5.gif, smileys/smiley36.gifbut you get the idea. You can find some cute little baskets or something at craft stores/walmart. If you are going to do this, I would do it soon, let them know you need a 2 week notice to make sure the product delivery gets to them on time. Make up a basket to "show" or at least get the pictures from online and add them to your flier.. maybe leave a small satchet of the unwind bath salts near the fliers (ask the managers if you can place them near the register, sometimes you may have to come up with a "swap"- like anyone who calls you for your gift giving service you'll give them a $5 gift certificate for that store- this is for those apprehensive store managers who aren't sure, they do a favor for you, you do a favor for them. A small gift certificate like that has customers returning to them.

Great idea Cassandra!! Thank you!
I have decided to go ahead with one of the silent auctions. The first is further away and is Friday, so not enough time to get money together for it. But the second is in my town and is actually raising money for a Children's Center where my daughter used to go. It is not until May 6th, so I have time to get things together and will have had another party by then to pay for the products.
I will post my results if I see any smileys/smiley1.gif
