To those of you who are familiar with many of the various party plan companies: Which companies require NO minimums or sales quotas for consultants to remain active? Just Jewelry is like that, but I'm wondering what other companies are as well.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Not exactly a party plan company, but Send Out Cards doesn't have any quotas to remain active.
(By the way, I love your signature banner. Very cute!)

SimplyFun doesn't have any minimums or sales quotas to be counted as active. Just a small renewal fee to be active for another year. :)

Jafra does not have minimums or sales quotas. To remain active, you need to purchase one product in a years time.

Michele Baratta atHome has no minimums or sales quotas to remain active. The only requirement is to retain an active personalized website, which is $12.95 a month.

Lia Sophia Jewelry doesn't have a monthly minimum but a quarterly minimum of $250. I love this jewelry.

I was curious if 'Just Jewelry' is considering customer online ordering in the near future.

Gold Canyon Candles no longer has a quota to stay active, but your commission will drop if you don't make quota and you will have to do a minimum sales amount in order to bring it back up. There is no annual renewal fee either

I do know that Southern Living at Home, now Willowhouse, doesn't require you to have a certain amount of sales to remain a consultant, However, you are not considered active. They don't kick you out. You just have to pay a renewal fee based upon your sales. The most though is $50.
Thirty One is $200 every rolling 3 months. That can be a combo of individual orders or one party. VERY easy and low pressure. I get that in repeat orders! They don't kick you out if you don't meet it. You are just considered inactive.

For Every Home has no monthly minimum sales requirement. Just a minimal yearly fee.

Thanks for the replies! Very helpful and interesting. A quarterly minimum is the same thing... still a minimum! But it seems like companies who don't have a minimum do have an annual fee, and some have both. Just Jewelry doesn't have any minimums to remain active, but has an annual consultant renewal fee of $79 which also covers your personal website.
LuvtoRelax - YES, there is something in the works for online ordering for customers! I'm very excited about that. For now customers have to contact a consultant directly to order, which is fine, but online ordering will hopefully add even more opportunities for sales. :)

With companies, that have no minimums (annual or quarterly)...there can be a downside...
You can recruit and grow a Team...but they can get too comfy and in turn be unmotivated...due to the fact that their are no "deadlines" to hit a sales goal. It can be easy, as a busy at home Mom, to put your business on the back burner and say "ehhh, I will get to it tomorrow" if you don't have a set in stone figure you NEED to hit :)
Not saying in any way, this is always the case...just saying there is a flipside to this ;)

I think that if someone wants to make money (and/or move up in the company), they will be motivated to sell! No imposed quotas will really change that; it may just make people become bitter or feel like they are under a lot of pressure, and eventually quit because of discouragement. I would bet that my team has the same percentage of people actually working their business as a team from another company which imposes minimums and quotas!
I also appreciate that when life gets in the way (as it does for everyone, at some point or another), I will not be penalized or be placed in inactive status just for taking some time off to deal with a situation. I will also not lose my team, but just won't earn commission off their sales for that month, until I pick up my sales again.
Anyone else? Are you motivated to sell only if there are quotas imposed on you? Or is there something else that drives you?

The thing that motivates me to sell is product and incentives. If I love my product I want to share with everyone to win the incentives that my company offers! Quotas are not a motivator for me, they make the business stressful when it doesn't need to be! JMO.

I agree. Incentives are a motivator for me. I will say that an easy quota to stay active is fine. But the ones I had with my former company were very stressful. That is why I am SO enjoying Thirty One. They do so much for us and it is easy to do the small number of $200 every rolling 3 months. I get quite a few repeat orders from customers each month already.
You are right. We are supposed to enjoy our businesses!

With Guy and Eva there is a difference between being active and being allowed to remain an advisor.
You are removed from being an advisor if you have not placed a $100 retail order in 12 consecutive months.
Also, a low personal sales quota option for earning team commission.

If you're an affiliate (not a COTM member) then there are no quotas. There're no quotas with Cello In A Box either.
I think that if quotas are the only thing motivating you to sell, then there might be a problem. I think you have to be motivated because you like what you do and you want to share it with everyone and make money to help support your family or whatever you're using the money for. Quotas help you stay motivated, yes, but I hope that's not the only reason. I like when companies offer incentives as well. That's a great motivator and you get something extra special for it that you wouldn't normally get.
Great points!

Cierra Ashley doesn't require any minumum quotas to stay active. There are however minimum quotas to reach if you are to recieve a bonus on your team sales. We also have a $36 annual fee which covers our websites for the year and cusomer newsletters. You pay this two months after signup, because the first two months is free.
